Saddest death

I think Fred's was saddest!

Of course Fred's death was saddest, because it was drawn out. If it had been quick like Doyle's or Tara's, it wouldn't have been intense. They went to great measures to save her, and it was all for nothing. Plus, the fact that the one she loved was there made it worse, because he had to feel her die.

Why are there only Tara and Fred in the poll?


Of the two of them (and kinda also even if you add most other dead characters) I'd have to say Fred. I think what made her death so sad was just how final it was. You have the cutie pie of Wolfram&Hart, and all of a sudden she just starts dying away, no one can do anything, and we even learn it's gonna be final, her soul forever destroyed. Also, Tara's death was quick, Fred was really suffering when she died. Her last words ("Why can't I stay?") were really just heartbreaking.

Added to that, I guess it kinda sucked for the Fresley shippers.

Yeah Fred too, but at the time when Tara died (first) it was so heartbreaking. :/

Out of the two up there, I chose Fred, but if Anya would have been in there, she would have gotten my vote.

I also voted for Fred and agree with everyone here.


Although if Joyce was on there she probably would have won. That episode had some serious tears for me, and I don't cry as a rule being a manly man and all.

I was more moved by Tara's death, but the actual dying itself was just *done* with Tara. The truley sad sad part was Willow's reaction. But for the death itself, Fred's was just heartbreaking.

I think both were equally sad and shocking, but i just liked Fred a bit more. I thought Fred and Tara were quite similar thats why its between those 2.

For me Fred was the worst. I did like Tara but I related to Fred more. Poor girl.

I think it's quite a hard decision. Both death's got to me; both for different reasons, and in different ways. I went for Tara, but only because I was more attached to Tara, in the fact I liked her more as a character the first time I watched the death scene, when I saw Fred day I didn't too much like her. However, I think both deaths were sad, both are tear-jerking and I can watch neither without crying.

I went with Fred. Not only does her death take such a long amount of time and causes her so much pain (Tara was almost killed instantly), but she is dead in every possible sense of the word. Fred doesn't get to go to a heaven dimension like Tara, Anya, or Joyce almost certainly did; her soul was completely burned away. That thought alone is just so brutal and final. The charming Texas girl who touched the lives of everyone at Angel Investigations paid a higher price for fighting the good fight than any other character in the Buffyverse did. All that's left of her is an outer shell and a few fragments of her personality for Illyria to play around with.

Gosh, this is a tough one. I voted Fred.

I was totally gutted by her death. Through they both took me by surprise, I was hit hardest by Fred's. What made it all the more sad was that her and Wes had finally gotten together and then

she's dead. Tragic.

Whereas, guys-
Angel-sent to hell. Came back
Spike- flash fried in a pillar of fire. Came back
Connor- Hell dimension. Came back.
Xander- lost an eye. Didn't die.
Andrew- redeems himself, doesn't die
Giles- escapes death on a daily basis.

Cos her death was definitely the saddest in btvs.

I did vote Fred, although i was definitely more sad when Tara died, cos i didn't like Fred's character as much as i liked tara (at the time)

but Fred's was heartbreaking , because of the whole 'Fresley' thing.

In BTVS it was Tara's death that shocked me the most. And Willow's initial reaction.

In Angel it was Doyle's death that hit me the most.

With Tara, it was just like BAM dead. It was sad all the same but I found Fred's more heartbreaking.
