Saddest Moments In the Buffyverse?

What moments on Buffy/Angel do you think are the saddest? Here are some of mine:

Buffy
- Tara's death in Seeing Red. I love Tara and Willow's relationship, and seeing her die so soon after their reconciliation just tore me up. Plus, the fact that it was so quick made you just stare at the screen after the episode's end, take it all in, then possibly start crying.

- Tara's brain being sucked in Tough Love. I've seen it around 5 times, and I still cry every time I see Willow's little speech at the end. What can I say, Tillow moments really get to me!

- Buffy killing Angel in Becoming, pt. 2. This scene is famous amongst Buffy fans for being a real tearjerker, so I had to put it in. Even though I've seen it multiple times and know the aftermath, it's heartbreaking every time you see it.

- Anya's speech in The Body. Must I explain, or should I get myself all upset thinking about it?

- Buffy's death in The Gift. Her speech was so very sad. And seeing Spike, who doesn't even have a soul, completely break down when he sees Buffy's body just really gets to you.

- Anya's death in Chosen. It was so quick, and not heroic in any way. It didn't even give you time to just take it all in...it was just, BAM! Dead. After Andrew lies to Xander about how she died saving him, you really realize what happened and it's just terribly sad.

Angel

- Fred's death in A Hole In the World/Shells. I didn't stop crying for one minute after Wesley took Fred home. Wes reading her A Little Princess, Fred forgetting who Feigenbaum is, begging Wesley not to leave her...I'm actually crying just thinking about it. If it didn't completely break your heart, you have no soul!

- Wesley's death in Not Fade Away. It was so sad how he just wanted Fred, even if it was a lie.

- The end of I Will Remember You. Bangel fans know exactly what I mean.

- Cordy's death in You're Welcome. I'm a big Cangel fan, so this one was really hard for me to take. The fact that they were so in love, but never really got to be together is so upsetting.

- Connor being stolen in Sleep Tight. Angel loved his baby so much, and seeing him ripped away from him made almost made you feel his pain.

- Doyle's death in Hero. It was especially upsetting because we didn't get to know Doyle that well.

- Darla's death in Lullaby. Even though I was never a big Darla fan, her sacrifice was a heartbreaking scene.

and for a lesser noticed sad moment when Angel breaks up with Buffy in The Prom and she tells Will 'I'm just trying to keep from dying. I can't breathe Will, I feel like I can't breathe'. I cry my eyes out at that scene every time.

Angel
-The scene where Fred is dying and all Wesley can do is watch. Oh god, I cry just thinking about it. And then the Fred montage they do at the end to 'Place I call Home' by Kim Richie. So, so sad. I mean losing Cordy and Doyle was sad but this was like BIIIG TRAUMA SAD.

-Jenny's death, and the scene where Giles call Buffy and Willow and they break down 🙁
-Buffy's death in 'The Gift', I think her speech was really upsetting.
-The scene in 'The Body' where Buffy is desperately trying to wake up Joyce "Mommy"... This is sad because it seems so realistic.
-Tara's death and the aftermath, especially in 'Grave' where Darth Willow breaks down to Xander...
-I get really emotional when the slayers are fighting the ubervamps in 'Chosen' - but not sad lol.
-Fred's death, the fact that she's gone, almost to an extent that it's like she never existed. It rips me up because she's not in heaven. The texas scenes at the start of 'A whole in the World' and the end of 'Shells' are so sad - the song makes me upset.
-Cordy's death in 'You're Welcome', the fact that they never get a shot is the saddest part. I hated the fact that her death wasn't dealt with either.

Depending on my time of the month, I can get quite emotional at the stupidest things (like Buffy telling Spike that he's beneath her in Fool for Love, par example).

But the 2 Buffy moments guaranteed to make me cry, without fail every single time (even if i switch it on at that exact moment and have missed the build up in the episode) are as follows:

Season 2- Angel getting his soul back, the whole embrace and Buffy stabbing him. followed by the whole leaving montage- that Sarah Mclachlan song after she sends Angel to hell just makes me cry even more than I already was.

Season 7: Spike's heroic death. It's not so much the death, I love that he's laughing as it happens. But it's the bit before when she grabs his hand and they burst into flames. Even the first time i ever saw that episode, that bit there with the 'i love you' 'no you don't but thanks for saying it', chokes me up so much.

In Angel however, I don't think I ever cried, but the closest I got was Wesley's death. Not so much because he was dying, but because Illyria asked him if he wanted her to lie to him now, and he said yes, and for the last few moments of his life, he could believe that Fred was there with him. Kinda poignant really, because as we die, or near death, I guess we all want to be surrounded by the ones we love.

And Lou said I was a cry baby for going to work with runny mascara after watching Becoming before heading off to work (note to self: bad plan).

Pretty much all the ones already mentioned for me. The whole Jenny thing when Giles finds her and the music and everything. Ohhh....

Buffy getting her class protector award....not sad but tears me up when Jonathan is giving that speech.

There have been loads of sad moments in Buffy/Angel, but I'll just list the ones that actually made me cry.

Buffy:
-Tara's death and basically any reference to it, like Willow breaking down in Xander's arms in 'Grave', Willow visiting Tara's grave, Willow thinking she's speaking to Tara in 'Conversations With Dead People' etc.
- Buffy sending Angel to hell in 'Becoming Part 2'
- Buffy's death at the end of 'The Gift'
- Anya and Spike's death in 'Chosen'
- Xander's speech to Dawn in 'Potential'
- Buffy breaking down in Dawn's arms in 'Forever'

Angel:
- Fred's death
- Wesley's death
- The Buffy/Angel scene at the end of 'I Will Remember You'
- Doyle's death
- The end of 'Are You Now or Have You Ever Been' with Angel forgiving that woman

There's probably more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

BTVS:

• Buffy killing Angel in "Becoming, p2"
• Joyce's Death (especially Anya's speech/ "we're not supposed to move the body") in "The Body"
• Willow's breakdown in "Grave"
• When Buffy throws the cash in Spike's face in (I can't remember the name, the one with his stories of killing the slayers)
• Angel breaking up with Buffy in "The Prom"
• Angelus' speech to Buffy in "Innocence"
• Anya in the end of "Selfless"

ATS:

• The "I'll never forget" scene of IWRY
• The scene in "Not Fade Away" when Wesley dies
• When Angel loses Connor
• Fred dying in "Hole in the World"
• Angel finding out Buffy died in "There's No Place Like..."

My number one definitely has to be the ENTIRE episode of "The Body", I don't think I've ever cried so hard over a TV show in my life... :cry2:
