I havent ever heard much talk about this ep. I gotta say i really liked it, and at the end it really was sad. Especially when willow started crying when she was paralyzed. I thought it was pretty powerful, i dont get teary eyed much when watching buffy but i gotta admit my eyes watered just a bit!

Anyone else have any thoughts on this ep?
 
My eyes were dry but my creep factor was working at maximum overdrive. That thing was freaky.
 
The thing that was was sooo creeppyy was when Buffy and Xander close the cave door opening while not knowing Willow is in there. Then that weird skin eating dude starts to taunt Willow. It was so nasty when he was eating her skin, I didn't really get teary eyed, but freaky eyed, defiantly.
 
Yeah, i dont mean the part when she was getting eaten, i mean the part where she was like so happy they were there even though she couldnt see them.
 
I absolutely love this episode! I rewatched it a couple of times. I never really think BTVS is scary, but that demon was freakin' scary
 
I love this episode ! One of my favourite S7 episodes. A great script. I love Willow in this ep... The demon was creepy but it was a nice change. And the end between Buffy and Willow is so sweet !
 
Creep factor much! Gnarl is one of the worst monsters on the show along with The Gentlemen and Der Kindestot.

I like the episode, but I tend to avoid it because besides Gnarl and the action, I find myself bored rewatching the same scenes. One without Willow, and one wth Willow. Decent episode
 
I enjoyed this episode. I felt so sad for Willow being all alone and not feeling ready to face her friends. I was a little annoyed with Xander and Buffy to just automatically think that just because the victims where skinned and they hadn't seen Willow, that she was somehow responsible for the killings. Granted, she did do that to Warren, but I'm pretty sure she would have made herself known to them if she was evil. She probably would have tried to kill them herself. There would have been no hiding.

Overall good episode, not my most favorite, but still good.
 
I really enjoyed this episode, especially with the major sexual tension between Anya and Willow. (sw) But the Gnarl was just CREEPY! It was eating her skin like spaghetti! Blergh! Most things on Buffy don't gross me out, but I find myself closing my eyes at that bit.
 
I like this episode. I feel so sad for Willow everytime I watch it. The almost teary scene for me is in the cave, when Willow ask if Xander and Buffy didn't leave her. But my fav scene is Dawn, on the couch, haha. She's so cute. By the way, it cracks me up when they speak with closing mouth. ^^
 
I have a dfinite problem with skin getting ripped off in striped and eaten. It's just eerie, and not in a good way!
However, the episode had some really nice fun parts. Like, how Anya kept positioning paralysed Dawn, haha. Or crazy Spike basement talk! The map-carpet burning.
What sort of disturbed me about the episode was that Willow could still see Anya. I mean, aren't they friends?
 
I thought this episode was really well written, and sure, the eating of skin is never nice but it wasn't that gross. 😛 Made me hungry for spaghetti actually. (sw) Anyways, I love that scene with Willow crying on the ground too.
 
This is possibly one of my favourite episodes of season 7!! I absolutely loved it!! And Gnarl gave me the heebie-jeebies..eurgh...anyway, i thought Gnarl, however creepy he was, was a perfect representation of all the problems Willow was having.

On returning to sunnydale Willow knew she had to face up to what she'd done, and she felt she was going to have to do it on her own, because she wasn't sure her friends would accept her back. So Knarl was all of willow's fears wrapped up in one very creepy demon...BUT! She didn't have to deal with it alone. Buffy and co. came to help her. That was Joss' way of saying, Willow has been accepted back into the group. That her friends are going to be there to help and support her. Which we see when Buffy helps willow grow new skin. or that's what i thought 😛

Brilliant episode though, and i could watch it over and over again 😀

That sort of annoyed me too. I mean, they are her friends, they knew, or at least, were told that Willow was all right again, they also knew Dark Willow, and they should have known that hiding was the last thing she'd do.

Apart from that, I thought it was a good episode. The not seeing eachother was a smart way to deal with Willow's insecurity, and her not wanting/daring to face the mess she'd caused (which has always been very typically Willow, I think)
 
Ha, I don't know that it's so terrible for Buffy and Xander to suspect Willow at first. She had tried to kill them all the last time they saw her. It's not totally unreasonable for them to not be over it immediately. To be honest with you, it's pretty big of them that they welcomed her back at all after that.
 
aw poor willow in this ep. this episode used to creep me out when i was younger,

Dark Willow wouldn't try to hide though. She would probably come right after them, or go and try to destroy the world again. She wouldn't be avoiding Buffy and Xander the way Willow did with the spell. Hell, the plane probably would have been full of dead people if Dark Willow was back.

They are. However, I don't think Willow was as worried about confronting Anya as she was about confronting Xander and Buffy. Anya used to be a demon; if there was one thing she understood, it was vengeance. But Xander and Buffy were a different story. Plus, Willow was closer to them, had known them longer, had more to lose if they didn't accept her back, etc etc.
