Sarah and David, Friends or lovers?

After a picture was posted in another thread of them being quite intimate i wonder what other people's views are on this matter.

They always maintained they were like brother and sister but their actions sometimes seemed to go against that.

Sarah's admiration for David was clear, especially when during accepting an award she said "This is for my Angel, missing you already". Ok that doesn't mean anything on its own but the look she gave whilst she said it demonstrates why there was so much speculation.

Anyway were they ever together or do you believe the brother and sister line?
 
I really have no idea. I was very young when BtVS/AtS first aired and I never watched the entirety of both series until this past December/January.

If they deny it, I have no reason to believe otherwise. But regardless, they're both married with children now anyway.
 
I fell in love with my husband over "acting" like a couple for a webseries... The lines are fuzzy sometimes, so maybe all that affection did translate... but then, I guess David and Sarah are probably a bit more practiced in romantic roles vs real life than we were, so they could probably handle it better. 😛

And they don't really have a neat celebrity couple name anyway. 😛

I found a site a couple of years ago all about Sarah/David and of course Buffy/Angel. I truly believe there was something between them..nothing official cause he was married and probably it wasn't something THAT deep like a true relationship but the things they've said and the pics..the looks, the amazing chemistry...they all point right there...infatuation. I wish I could find that site but I guess they shut it down cause it was really old...it was full of quotes of Sarah about David and vice-verse, or their thoughts about Bangel and each other...first time I read it I was shocked. Those were not words or something you'd do with friends. I remember that in Innocence, the infamous scene where Buffy talks to Angel for the first time after he's turned in his apartment, Sarah couldn't stop crying, for real and guess what? Only David calmed her down. He loved kissing her and he said something like, everytime he had a scene kissing her he had to bring a new dress to his wife LOL. It could potentially mean nothing but let me dream XD
 
I'd like to believe there was nothing between them, because I'm all about the sanctity of marriage. Plus, I've never really been a big Bangel fan. XP *winces* Don't stake me!
 
Their celebrity name would be Bellar, which is just to damn close to Bella for my liking, so I'm going to say no, nothing happened.
 
I truly hope not, because I'm one of those old fashioned people who still believe that "...forsaking all others..." means exactly that. If it actually were true, I would lose quite a bit of respect for both Sarah and David.
 
Hasn't your respect for David dwindled anyway after a recent affair coming to light?

I hadn't even thought about that until you brought it up, but yeah, it has. Damn him. I hope he gets warts on his wiggly parts. (But I can still respect Sarah. Except for her taste in husbands)
I've read some rumors before that they had to act that way because of the sake of the show.. like to give fans what they need. But I'm not buying that story, because no one is such a good actor to act what they had in their eyes. I'm not saying they were madly in love, but they were very close for sure. I think the problem was his divorce. When their potential relathionship came out to open, he just got a divorce, and I think they or only one of them didn't wanted for public to think they she was the cause of their divorce. I think they just grew apart when David got his own show, Sarah met Freddie and he Jamie, and that was just it.

But it's nice to live in the world when you know there is a chance they were together.

its interesting how Sarah thought the show would never work without Angel, his absence left a hole in the show, if there was no Spike (which was the perfect replacement), I doubt the show would go on this long.
 
At one point I really liked to believe there was (back when I first watched the show) but honestly, I really don't think there was anything more than friendship between them. And by now I kind of hope there wasn't because like White Avenger said it would cause me to loose some respect for both of them.

Definitely 'forsaking all others' includes that hot kickass blonde you work with. I mean, you already get to make out with her on set; why not take what you can get away with and then get away? 😛
I am not a Bellar supporter (or a Bangel one, but I don't think that has anything to do with it, really 😛).
Also, I think the celebrity couple name should be something more fun, like... Gellareanaz. ...but that doesn't matter, now does it? XP
 
I've seen some of intimate Sarah/David pics so I thought they were really dating. But I didn't know David was married. Now I'll just believe they were just friends. No no no to the Gellareanaz.
 
when the show started Sarah was only 18 (David was 26 I think), her trip in the show with David explains her attachment to him, she was just young, & he was like a big brother to her. at least that's how I see it.
