Sarah and David's first on-screen kiss

Now I don't own the Buffy season 1 and 2 Dvd's but I have heard that David and Sarah ate a lot of stuff before they did the kiss to make their breath stink! lol I read about it somewhere. And I just wanted to know is that true? I read somewhere that Joss was giving the commentary for the episode in one of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 1 Dvd.

If it's true then it kind of makes you wonder how much fun David and Sarah must have had while filming the love scenes between themselves! 😀

I wonder what it must have been like for Sarah during the first on-screen kiss with David, because if I'am not mistaken David was 27 years old when he starred as Angel in BTVS, and Sarah was 18 years old. The age gap between them is quite huge.

I heard the same thing about the first Buffy/Angel kiss, and it just goes to show how both were dedicated professionals that they could make the kiss that convincing (I wonder just how many takes they had to do in order to get it right), and also just how devilishly sadistic they both must have been.

As for how much fun they had with the love scenes, well, they sure SEEMED to be enjoying it, and if the various blooper scenes on YouTube are any indication, the entire cast seemed to be having fun all of the time.

No dailies have been released of Sarah and David, that's why they haven't been posted. There are a few stills of them looking kinda intimate while they were waiting for a shot to be set up but other than that there is nothing.

Also, David was 25 when the show started and I think they have said that it was garlic and tuna that they had eaten before the shot. That's just plain evil!

lol! 😀 I'm guessing that must have been David's idea...Many of the blooper reels from "Angel" show David playing the class-clown on the sets, behind the scenes!

That is really sad that there aren't any dailies of them. I was really curious to see them.

In Angel DVDs you can find bloopers, and you're right, he's a one jokey guy. It's actually kinda weird seeing him smiling, and laughing and making jokes after you watch Angel, the character is not funny and then you see David... it's weird. And he has such a cute smile, that you're actually sorry Angel doesn't smile that often.

I remember hearing that Shannen Doherty and Luke Perry was it? (I can't remember show she was dating in that show) would eat onions and BBQ chips before kisses as well on Beverly Hills 90210. So it's possible! 😀

You'll be pleased to know that there are plenty of dailies for Spuffy action. Phew!

In Angel DVDs you can find bloopers, and you're right, he's a one jokey guy. It's actually kinda weird seeing him smiling, and laughing and making jokes after you watch Angel, the character is not funny and then you see David... it's weird. And he has such a cute smile, that you're actually sorry Angel doesn't smile that often.

Probably a lot of the jokes and clowning that went on were pure self defense on David's part. Face it, he played a character who had to keep himself under the most severe level of self control imaginable every waking moment. He had to have some break from that kind of persona occasionally just to keep his sanity.

It says a lot for his skill as an actor that David, with such an obviously well developed sense of humor, was able to so convincingly play such a stoic, brooding, tortured soul in every scene.
