Gellar talks Buffy again.

March 5, 2004 -- BUFFY wants to be around to say good- bye to Angel.

Sarah Michelle Gellar who played the butt-kicking ghoul killer for years on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" says she's open to appearing in a final episode of "Angel" if her schedule permits.

"If everything falls into place, and it feels like the right thing at the time for the right people," Gellar told SCI FI Wire, speaking openly about the issue for the first time.

"Angel" the spin-off of "Buffy" follows the adventures of a brooding, but good-natured vampire who fights to protect the world from various super-natural threats. It's ending its five-season run this spring.

"I go back and forth on the idea, especially because 'Angel' had such a hard time, in my opinion, always getting out from 'Buffy's' shadow . . . And I would hate for it to go out being about Buffy. It'll all depend on if I'm home in time and what the ideas are."

Gellar had been approached to appear on an earlier episode of "Angel" but says that due to the death of her aunt and her hectic moviemaking schedule, she had to pass.

Reports that she wanted to distance herself from the Buffy character were untrue, she says.

"They had asked me to do 'Angel,' and it was a very bad time in my personal life," Gellar says.

At first I thought it would be great for her to come back for the finale. Now I am not so sure. It looks as though Illyria/Fred may be the last storyline and Buffy just doesnt fit in there. Plus with the way that Giles and the new Watchers Council (aka.. Scooby's) are treating Angel, I just dont think that Buffy needs to come back. Angel is out of the shadow of Buffy and I would like to see it remain that way. Buffy would only be a destraction for them.

Spin,spin, spin. IF she has the time in her schedule, IF everthing falls in place, IF it feels like the right thing at the right time for the right people? (and who would the right people be ? someone from Jupiter ?) I go back and forth because Angel has had such a hard time (in her opinion) of getting out from Buffy's shadow ( condesending much ? guess she needs to convince as many people as she can that her character was the end all be all even to a show in which she never acted) BUt we should all take heart because if she's home and if people can flatter her enough she might consider it.
Oooooh , I'm underwhelmed. You know I understand if she's not interested, I certainly understand that one's personal life can get in the way of making a decision on the spot. And the spin-doctor thing ? Guess I get that too but it doesn't mean that I find it any less insulting to the intelligence of the collective fan-base. Please don't get me wrong. I think SMG made a great Buffy. I hope she has a great life. Just don't think this is one bit of spin I can buy into, that's all.

i think that if angel IS picked up for the 6th series then maybe they'll write her into the end but if this series is the last then i don't see it happening. I'd like it to happen though.

Whatever happens happens. Buffy was a rarity in that it was able to end on its own terms. I'm just hoping the rest of the season--series--is as good as the season's been thus far.

It would be exciteing if she came for the last episode. Cause then there would be no cliff hangers of who ends up with buffy and what happens with all their relashonships. UNFORCHINATLLY I do NOT think she will be makeing any apperances ::bsad:: . It's just something i think she feels she needs a break from. 7 years of playing a character probablly wasnt what she expected. Although i really really wish she would make an aperance Inless it doesnt cancel this year i really cant expect for her to make an apperance.. But i really want her to!!!!!

It would be nice to see her back, and at the beginning of this season of Angel, hell I was all for it. But I'm starting to think that bringing her back would be a bit of a mistake. In one way you are bringing the two shows back together with having sarah

back, but having her back might make the end of Angel all about Buffy, which would be a little dissapointing because Angel has done so well without Buffy being around. And of course Joss would never let Buffy be with Angel or Spike, so it's not like she would come back to town and choose one of them. So basically what I'm trying to say is right now I'm having mixed feelings about it. How about everyone else?

So basically what I'm trying to say is right now I'm having mixed feelings about it. How about everyone else?

I soooooo understand!
I really wanted a reunion of both of them at first coz i thought it would be cool and all but now i'm not so sure......
I'd love to see Sarah in the end but i'm not so sure that it's a great idea!
Angel is doing so good without being in her shadow that bringing her back might be difficult to fit in.
And with the storyline that we have now it would be hard to write her in.
I do hope that it could all work out but I'm not so sure that it will !!
