Buffy Pops Up In Angel

Sarah Michelle Gellar is resuming her role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer for two special episodes of spin-off TV show Angel.

The blonde star will return for the two shows, which will be seen next year, even though she has quit the original for good.


A source said: "Sarah always said she'd play Buffy again."

The Buffy show charted the life of a high school student who had been given special powers to rid her home town of vampires.

Gellar has been busy on other projects since leaving the show, including Scooby sequel Scooby Doo Too.

Buffy co-star Alyson Hannigan recently appeared in movie blockbuster American Pie: The Wedding.

how long does it take to shoot scooby doo 2...she missed the last buffy party for shooting of that kay movie...
 
well SD2 has been probably done filming for about 2 months and Sarah is suppose to be staring in another movie that started shooting in August.

Im happy she is appearing ofcourse, itll be intresting to watch and I just want to see how The WB promote the episode.
 
Oh that makes me VERY happy. I am seriously dreading the new TV season. Buffy was my most anticipated premiere. Of course, now that's Angel, but it's just not the same without each other!

I read somewhere that she's back for the first two episodes of Angel.

SMG isnt back for the first 2 episodes, she would come in during Sweeps probably but I know for sure that she is not in the first 2 episodes.
 
I can't wait for this. To see the tension between Buffy, Angel and Spike will be priceless!

I think she'll be in 2 of the first 10 episodes. Not sure. But it would make sense as a 'Final farawell' to Buffy Summers and then get on with the rest of the season of Angel without thinking 'Whens Buffy gonna make an appearance.'
 
well seeing as though when Buffy shows up it will probably be during a very high time in the show she wont show up around the first 10 episodes, she will probably show up during one of the sweep months where the shows air their best episodes so I wouldnt be surprised to see her pop up during the 12th(100th episode)-17th episode or she could always show up for the last 2 episodes.
 
It would be cool if SMG came back to help the gang fight whatever they might in the finale!
That would so kick ass, as Im sure Buffy would! lol!
 
It doesn't really matter when she appears, but I want her too, I'm glad she will!

Update on Smg`s possible appearance on Angel !

Joss Whedon talks to the official Angel Magazine concerning a guest appearance of Sarah as Buffy on Angel.

In an Interview with Joss Whedon from the Premiere issue of the Angel Mag, he has this to say about Sarah's return:

Have you talked to Sarah Michelle Gellar about the possibility of her making guest appearances?

Joss: Yes, I have. And so has David [Boreanaz]. She's always been very open to the idea- she's probably the busiest of all, but she's talked to [WB entertainment president] Jordan [Levin] about it. She's someone who's said from the start, "If I have the time, if the schedule is there, we'll do it, count me in." We're hoping she's available, oh, sweeps time. But we can't control that--neither can she.
