At just 4 years old, Charlotte Prinze, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr.'s daughter, is already a budding fashionista. In fact, the little girl has been doling out style advice . . . to her mom!

Telling Us Weekly how her style has evolved since becoming a mom to Charlotte and son, Rocky, 23 months, Gellar called out her footwear. "My heels have certainly gotten a little bit lower, so thank you, platform sneakers. I appreciate you," Gellar said.

While her feet may thank her, Gellar's stiletto for sneaker swap has elicited a strong reaction from young Charlotte.

"My daughter says to me all the time, 'Mom, why do you look so understated?' Thank you, Fancy Nancy," Gellar told Us, referencing the popular children's book series. "[Her style is] apparently, way better than mine, and way fancier."

"...so thank you, platform sneakers"? There are actually platform sneakers, now? Sneakers are the shoes you run in, play tennis in, play basketball, walk, climb in, hike in, and just in general knock around in, and now they have PLATFORMS? The epitome of absurdity!

Didn't you know about platform sneakers? How else do you get on a train without anyone noticing?
Lol, yup there are platform sneakers. I've never had any but they look pretty nice! I don't think I'll get any though, they'd be useless for walking the dogs, but hey - it's not like they're not gonna question my fashion sense anyway 😉

How cute is Charlotte? "why do you look so understated?" Adorable. Personally I like SMG's understated style but considering how my Barbies used to dress (hello colors and lots, and lots of patterns) I can understand Charlotte's point of view and would probably have shared it if I was her age now. 😀

Platform sneakers seems like a dopey idea- kind of counter productive isn't it?

Like doctors wearing clown shoes or...no, platform sneakers is still dumber. 🙂

I do think its cute that daughter realises this and SMG doesn't. 😛

Maybe its because Sarah's so petite/tiny that she needs to wear them?

Reach the high shelves and stuff, but still have ankle support. 🙂

Come to think of it, I knew a guy back in my Army Reserve days who wore platform COMBAT BOOTS, and that was back in the 70's. I guess platforms playing basketball isn't as bad as platforms in battle.

It's still weird, though.

That's adorable, kids are so funny. Yea Sarah is kind of short so I can totally see her wearing platform sneakers, especially if she's used to wearing heels. She want's to hide her true height. Charlotte is so cute, I can totally see Freddie in her.

Charlotte is absolutely adorable. 😀 I'm not surprised she's growing up into such an intelligent, mature child, given who her parents are!

Aren't your children meant to get their parents abilities? So where did Charlotte get her fashion sense from?

A game I used to play with my daughter was, how old would she be when she was taller than her mum.
