I bought the new issue of US Weekly (the one with Juatin Timberlake and Jessica Biel on the cover) and in t there is a little blurb about Sarah and Freddie welcoming their baby... Apparently Sarah has decided to go by her married name now; the mag listed her as Sarah Michelle Prinze.
 
Do we have any confirmation that she really goes under that name now in showbiz as well? maybe it's just a mistake the mag did!
 
I've heard that she uses that name now. I'm not sure if she's using it in movie credits and so on. Alyson Hannigan calls herself Alyson Denisof now, but she's still Hannigan in the HIMYM credits.

I'm continuing to call her Sarah Michelle Gellar because a) I'm not a fan of women taking their husbands names, and b) I'm not a fan of Freddie Prinze Jr.
 
I doubt she'd change her professional name. She's been known as Sarah Michelle Gellar for so long and it'd be a stupid move for her career. It's not as recognisable.
 
there was a bit about her having her baby Charlotte last week , in an British magazine though, but they never changed her name, it was still Smg.
 
I read somewhere the she started going under the same Sarah Michelle Prinze as an anniversary present a while ago. Althought whenever I read about her in magazines they still say SMG. She's just too well known through that name.
 
Yeah, it was like a 'gift' to Freddie. I guess once you reach a certain level of wealth, material gifts just don't cut it.
 
It's probably not her stage name. Honestly, it would be a bit idiotic to change it this far in the game.
 
It would probably be less confusing if she hyphenated her last name, like the late Farah Fawcett-Majors did during the time that she was married to Lee Majors. Let's be realistic, though, aside from a relatively small, highly devoted fan base, it will probably not affect either her career or recognize-ability one way or the other. We will always see her as Buffy, and everyone else sees her, at least up until now, as "Who?" Her big break hasn't come yet, so, Gellar, Prinze, or Gellar-Prinze, it doesn't really matter.
 
I dont see the big deal about her changing her name, I mean maybe she wanted to change it due to the baby... I know when i first had my son (as me and my boyfriend aren't married yet) I was all whiney about the fact that I didn't have his last name, and what would I say when he goes why is your name different...I mean Maybe thats one reason she changed it.Anyways she is well know and most people who know about her know she is married to Freddie So whats the big deal? Heck I say go for it....
 
If it's true, I'm a little disappointed, but that may be because I associate SMG with Buffy and can't see Buffy changing her name. Which is dumb, because I know they're not one and the same... I suppose after more thought I'll have no issue.
 
I guess I'm old-fashioned, 'cause I think it's great that she finally did the normal thing and change her name to match her husband's. LOL I think Sarah Michelle Gellar-Prinze would be too much of a mouthful, and hope she really is going to go by Prinze now. I understand why she wouldn't, but to me anyway, it's the "right" thing to do.
