And of course the eternal question gets asked again. Do people think her answer is gonna change one of these days when it hasn't for the last 18 years? And the responses she got are the perfect example of how freaking deranged and insane these Spike fans are. Way to give the fandom (and the Spike fans) the crap reputation that it has. Well done fandom.

As for the rest damn that's a lot to read through. Going to comment on that later.
 
I did read through her answers. I think it's more that people don't know she is going to answer with Angel, not everyone reads all of SMG's Q&A's. lol. It was cute how she said "don't hit me" because she always gets hate mail for it. She also talks a lot about her family which I thought was sweet, and I also like her sense of humor it's funny. SMG is just adorable.

Yeah some fans definitely need to remember it's fiction... but then I see that in a lot of other fandoms when fans have had open dialogue with actors/writers/creators. Always get some cuckoos.

Yeah, Matt McGorry who plays Bennett on Orange is the New Black was getting death threats because of what his character did. Many confused him for his character. It was intriguing.

Yeah on a related note to the fans confusing actors for their characters there is an interview with Shelley from Twin Peaks (see even I'm doing it now) where she says that a fan gave her a leaflet about domestic abuse to which she sweetly said "I will pass it onto someone who needs it" and also a fan wondered why she wasn't on the air while she they were speaking, not reliasing that the show was pre-recorded! Gotta love those crazy fans😀

Aw I'm a bit bummed I missed this. Although I can go another decade without having to see her answer "Angel or Spike" again, even if she would change her answer, because there just has to be other things about BtVS in general that people want to know. 😀

Her answer is always biased so it's rather pointless. And her answers in general were rather non-eventful for the whole thing. But I reckon answering on Facebook you cant really elaborate.
 
Well I think some it got lost in translations because I have come to the conclusions that some of the answers were meant to be ironic but were not signposted as such. And I do think most the questions were poor anyway.

Well, her answer is also pointless either way.
Yes, she played Buffy. Yes, I get why people care. But actually... no I don't, cause why would her opinion on the matter affect that of other people? The way she relates to the pairings doesn't affect how I do. If she said Spike, it wouldn't change my mind or upset me because it has no meaning... she isn't Buffy...

I thought a lot of her responses were cute and tongue-in-cheek. She seems like a very cool lady. I do kinda feel bad for her since she has done a lot since Buffy ended (i.e. two tv shows, a bunch of movies, kids, etc) and all anyone asks her about is Buffy. I think the questions could have been better.

That said, it was on the BtVS fanpage, so maybe that should be expected.
 
Its a bit of a catch 22. Some actors are never even famous for one role and so to become such an icon must be a great feeling, but then you do like to prove that there is more to you than that also. While Buffy was still on she had a number of good roles but since then it has dried up a bit. Its a shame that comedy with Robin Williams didn't take off. Still there is time yet for her.

It is no secret that her relationship with David is more profound than with James. She worked with David a bit more than with with James. She has also confessed that Season 6 was tiring because she lost control of the character. And of course the soulmate theory that is also supported by Joss Whedon. I am on team Angel and I understand why she chooses Angel over Spike.

I also understand why so many people love Spike. I think that they love that relationship for all the wrong reasons.

My personal reason why the Spike/Buffy relationship works it is because it is a real grown up relationship. There is always someone that loves the better half than the other. Think about it. In Season 6 and 7. Spike adores Buffy while Buffy just has strong feelings towards him. There is a huge difference.

In real life. You can adore and love your better half. Or you are on the receiving part of all that love. But what happens? The better half does not love you as much as you do or vice versa.

Spike Loves Buffy, but she learns to love Spike.
