Sarah Talking about the cancellation of All My Children

I agree with her too. Although I don't get to catch them very often anymore, yes it saddens me too that AMC & OLTL are being cancelled. At least they're keeping GH. Sigh, I'm an ABC soaps girl, never watched anything else.
 
I completely 100% agree with her. I kinda took for granted these shows would be around forever... I'll miss coming into my mother's room, sitting on the bed and watching AMC and OLTL. It's a mother daughter bonding thing. And it's a fond memory from my childhood.

What I agree with more than anything is Sarah saying "I don't think they tried hard enough to save the genre. And, it's just devastating to me." I completely agree. It's a whole genre of television that's just disapearing. And ABC doesn't care. ABC's made A LOT of dumb decisions lately. This is by far the dumbest.

That was totally my experience with AMC too, growing up!
Gosh that was extremely honest of her, go Sarah! I may not have been a fan of either shows (Sunset Beach fan) but it was ashame to see two huge shows suddenly get cancelled like they did.
 
Serialized stories are going the way of the dodo. It's why most of the great shows are on cable now.
 
I heard that they may be cancelling GH too so Katie Couric can have a talk show,if that happens I will stop watching abc shows all together!!!

I agree with her 100% especially about the shows they are replacing it with. We have home networks and food networks here I don't understand why they would take away a long running soap to put something that can easily be put on the other channels.

I am mostly mad because like Zobo said I grew up on these my mom and I watched them and she watched them. I don't really watch AMC anymore but OLTL is heating up. If they cancel GH now that will make me very angry.

I personally don't care for her at all. Didn't she not make it on her recent show? If so why would they have the nerve to cancel a long running soap for her? That makes no sense at all.
 
Another thing that doesn't affect a lot of people BUT will have trickle down is that these shows employ a LOT of people. Not just the lead actors but background actors, crews and people behind the scenes. Our industry is already in trouble and this is going to make things much worse.

Spoken like a true Soap Opera fan. That's so true. Those shows that their replacing AMC & OLTL with, probably won't last too long.

That is the frusterating part,I am thinking you are going to cancel these two great shows that have been on the air for years for shows that will last maybe one season at best?Cancel reality tv!!!I could sure do without the bachelor/ette,survivor,amazing race etc.

Amen!! There is very little reality TV that I like, & even those few I do like I don't follow religiously, & I could live without pretty much all of it!

I agree. I could do without the reality shows. We don't need more.
