I think it's really nice how SMG seems to enjoy twitter. Today I was glancing through some of her tweets and saw this pic of her and Emma Caulfield having lunch, which I thought was nice to see cause I never got the feeling they even liked each other much on BTVS https://twitter.com/RealSMG/status/463438104129314817/photo/1

My impression of her changed completely once she started tweeting. Before that, from interviews of hers I'd watched and read, how much she values Buffy really didn't come across. It may be ten years later but I think it's great that fans get to see her embrace the verse so enthusiastically.

I think the media did her a disservice, because the people I've met through work that were on Buffy with her, described her in a completely different way (as "the cheerleader for the crew", always trying to keep everyone upbeat and energized, etc).

Given her presence on Twitter, I really wouldn't find that hard to believe any more. What we had previously been getting of her, filtered through various media outlets, is simply not what we have gotten when it's just her and no interviewer or media organisation involved.

She surprised me and was much more active than I had expected.

Now it will be interesting to see how much she will keep it up when she doesn't have a show to promote. 😛

I agree, [MENTION=7585]Kean[/MENTION] and Buffy Summers (not tagging you, 'cause I know how much you hate it! LOL). I always felt like before when she talked about BtVS, she seemed really disinterested in the 'Verse and the fans of the show. But now she seems to completely embrace the fanbase and is always posting pics of her hanging out with the Buffy cast. I absolutely ♥ it, and it makes me feel bad for having judged her as a bitch because I felt like she wanted nothing to do with the 'Verse for a long time.

It would have been too much of an image to bear I think, if she had been accessible earlier for instance on things like twitter. The attention she would have got would have been too much and would have probably overwhelmed her. So I reckon she rightly deflected some of that attention for a while and focused on other things in her life. And it is good to see that the real sarah michelle gellar is actually just what you would like to think she would be like, which is very proud of what she did with the Buffy show, and a very bubbly, friendly kind of person in general.
