Sorry, I disagree on that. She peaked with My So Called Life as far as stardom goes.

I am in Australia so our experience may differ, but she is much better known here than SMG IMO.

I didn't know who she was until Homeland.

She has been a movie actress. Much bigger in movies than SMG. Homeland is her first venture (as far as I know) into TV.

Personally, I think Clare Danes is a much bigger name at the minute. She won the lead actress Emmy last year, she's on one of the most talked about, watched and feted shows in TV right now. At present she is more associated with Carrie Mathison than Angela Chase or even Juliet. She has transitioned beyond her earlier iconic roles. SMG hasn't had a hit since The Grudge.

Yeah Claire Danes is a way bigger star then SMG. Claire Danes has had a lot better choices in Film, which gives her more credibility. SMGs main box office draw is gonna be Buffy fans.

Exactly. Which is why it is messed up she doesn't give the show more love.

Not sure what to say... I am not a Danes fan, and have only seen her in a few things, but my impression is she is much bigger in showbiz than SMG, and that was before Homeland.

You are right, R&J was a huge hit. Stardust not so much, but it has a bit of a cult status from what I have read online, and it did OK at the Box Office.

SMG has always been one of my favorite actresses, mostly because of BtVS and Cruel Intentions. Even when the show was airing I thought it was odd that she wasn't out promoting it more and doing the cons or what-have-you. I understand that she wants to be separated from the role, but it is what got her truly famous. Other than Cruel Intentions, she mostly stayed in the horror genre when choosing films (IKWYDLS, Scream, etc.) so it was to a similar target audience. After that, her movies weren't huge hits or anything.

I can understand not wanting to do a ton of extras outside of filming, but especially since she had to fight for her role as Buffy, she would be more apt to promote the show and cater to fans. And I would assume actors, etc. get paid to do DVD extras, cons, and the like? Most jobs do come with the occasional "We need you to go above and beyond" type of thing.

Before I confirm any mislead information, I just want to clarify that I am in no way upset or angry at Alyson, but upset at the whole situation.

The truth is Season three was when I was at the height of my career so to speak, and much like all actors, there were days when I honestly didn't want to wake and go to work. I was both mentally and physically exhausted from filming at different locations for ridiculous hours and some-days I thought I was going to have a meltdown. Some claim that I was stupid enough to try and juggle a hugely successful television series as-well as a movie that year, but it was a phenomenal experience which I don't regret and I'm incredibly proud of what I accomplished and even managed to do the same several years later, so I take offence to that remark.

This gives me a lot of respect for SMG. One, she took the time to answer and clarify things. Two, she clearly says that she's very greatful for the show and acknowledge that it is a big part of her acting career. She's right, she should be very proud for having juggled everything so well.

Does she have an official FB page? I've read some of her posts and something doesn't seem right, she's always been very private it seems very open, and the page has so few likes, less then 10,000, her unoffical fan pages have more than that?

There isn't a single sentence of that message that reads like SMG, to me. Added to the fact that she has been so intensely private her entire career about her life it seems odd that she would suddenly be so open and forthright. I'm not sold on the legitimacy of this statement.

I think it was nice of them both to try to clarify and even if it wasn't SMG who wrote it herself I would believe it's her own words, it doesn't sound strained to me (except for the 'one love' maybe but that's just me disliking ppl signing off like that)

Either way, it seems like a highly over-emphasized use of wording/misunderstanding and I think both parts are perfectly understandable and I'm sure there are no hard feelings. Things just got way blown out of porportion clearly.


And a side note: 18hour days? Phew, glad I never had an urge to be in showbiz.
