Here's a small little article from Tv.com about what the cast of BtVS is up to!
Some good news about our old friend Spike makes us consider what everyone else from Sunnydale is up to.

Michael Phelps was in another car accident. There are bombs in Baghdad. It's going 90 degrees again here in New York. Today is a lot of bad news. But! Here is some good news we got late in the day yesterday that's still making us happy: Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum James Marsters will be joining the cast of Sci Fi Syfy's Caprica for a few episodes. You know, that's that Battlestar Galactica prequel series all about what happened before the melancholy robots came and killed everyone.

So the lovable Spike from Buffy will be on what I'm hoping will be a smart, suspenseful science fiction series. Sounds ideal! It's always to see a Buffy alum making good.

Which makes us wonder. What's everyone else up to? You know, Buffy and Xander and Cordelia and, shudder, Dawn. Actually, most folks have been pretty busy.

Well, OK Nicholas Brendon, Emma Caulfield, and Charisma Carpenter aren't doing a whole hell of a lot (though Carpenter is in that crazy-sounding Sylvester Stallone movie The Expendables.) But other folks are doing just fine. Anthony Head just showed up as King Arthur's dad on that silly Merlin series. We all know that Alyson Hannigan is on that How I Met Your Mother laff riot. Of course David Boreanez has Bones and Seth Green has Family Guy (among other cartoon projects.) And little Dawnie Michelle Trachtenberg is set to make another annoying splash as queen bitch Georgina Sparks (sigh) on the next season of the Gossip Girl. So good for them.

But the one we're most excited about is Sarah Michelle Gellar's new HBO project The Wonderful Maladys. We're excited because the pilot is being directed by Mad Men and Sopranos vet Alan Taylor, and because the cast also includes terrific and underused actors like Adam Scott, Molly Parker, and Nate Corddry. It's a quirky, interesting group with a good creative team behind them. Plus it'll be nice to see Gellar get to stretch her legs in a series again.

Now all we need is to get some work for my beloved Emma Caulfield and I'll be pretty happy with how things turned out after Buffy got dusted.

I wish Emma was in more stuff also! I've never heard of SMG's series anyone else, sounds promising, I'd like to see her on TV again!

Sounds cool, Be fun to see Sarah in that role, pretty different to what she's done before, unless she just keeps saying Foamy, but I assume she'll be a different kind of drunk!
 
There was a thread awhile back about Sarah's new show, though I'm too lazy to look for it.

Emma does need more work. And I know he's technically an Angel actor, but Alexis Denisof also needs to get more work. That guy kicks some serious ass.

Emma just finished a movie called "Shadow Play", although she thinks that title is going to change. She also has her new webcomic/multimedia project, Contropussy.

I keep hoping she'll shoot a movie called "Emma Spends 90 Minutes Rollerskating in Short Shorts Like She Did In All the Way." But unforunately I haven't seen any movement in that direction.

Alexis is going to be in at least 4 episodes of "Dollhouse" next season.

Charisma also has a role in the fantasy series "Legend of the Seeker" this fall... not sure if it's a one-shot or a recurring deal.

And I wouldn't say "Merlin" is silly, per se, just... different. It can be enjoyable if you put aside everything you ever read, heard or saw about Arthurian legend. After seeing Tony play Giles for seven years, though, it's a little jarring to see him play a bonehead like Uther.
 
Haven't seen Merlin but I can see how it would be difficult to watch Tony playing a bonehead. The guy sounds brilliant just by opening his mouth in Buffy.
 
I actually enjoyed Merlin, but then again I'd probably watch Tony redecorate his living room if it was televised so I'm not really sure what that says about the show.
 
I'm very interested about SMGs new show, too bad I don't have HBO though. Does HBO offer stuff on iTunes?

I'd really like to see Nick Brendon in something good, preferably on a show I already watch, or a movie. Even a TV movie. Although I'd like to see Emma more, she's just fantastic and would be wonderful on a sitcom ala Aly Hannigon on HIMYM.
 
YAY! I am so glad that SMG is getting back into television work, I think that is where she truly shines, and the show is on HBO which is usually a good sign of a show's success!
 
Merlin is a fun show if you go in with the right attitude. I think it's very silly and quite stupid, actually, but I also think that's part of it's charm (this coming from the girl who went to the midnight opening of Transformers 2 and laughed through the whole thing). I'm a little sad that Anthony Stewart Head is in something that doesn't really demand good acting and, therefore, an opportunity to be... awesome.
By the way, does anyone know why he suddenly went from Anthony Stewart Head to Anthony Head?
 
I'm a wee bit surprised SMG is going back to TV, I thought she was all about the movies these days. But it's a good move I think. She wasn't really getting the chance to do proper acting in most of her movies.
 
My sister absolutely loves Scooby Doo, now even more so (I think) since she's started watching Buffy. Their kitchy but I don't think they were bad choices. I mean... it's Scooby Doo!

I read something recently, an old interview, about how she wishes she didn't do "Simply Irresistible". She knew she shouldn't have and wanted to back out.

"Merlin" disappointed me quite a lot. I watched the premiere (one of the last new shows I caught) and it was completely different than the previews made it look, at least IMO. I really only watched to see ASH and barely saw him. Oh well.

Sounds like she just didn't think it was a good project, wasn't really up to her standards.

Yeah I know how you feel, no HBO here either. I also wish i could see Nick in more films/shows! Emma kind of disappeared, which is so sad becasue I would watch her talk about evil bunnies anytime.

It annoys me that David is in Bones, or whatever it was, cause i didn't think he was a very good actor. Did he get better? Someone tell me, i need to know, cause he was so bad in Buffy, especially the first season. Maybe he was ok and i'm just being really whiny about this,. Cause i'm confused as to why he, above all the other awesome cast members, would have a steady acting job in a relatively popular TV show, where awesome and funny Actors like Emma and Nick are in hardly anything.

Can't know what you'd think so if you watch the show you'll make the decision on your own. But I can say that a lot of people love his character on the show and David of course have some part of it. But it's not likely that he'll be called the greatest actor of all time. 😉

I watched Bones before I did Buffy. The first time I saw him on Buffy season 1 I remember thinking "What's up with David?!!" he was pretty bad. I think he improved on Angel though and trust me he is so much better on Bones. Nothing like what he was like on Buffy. He's got great chemistry with the other characters and is very believeable.

Of course though, this is from an actual Bones fan. I recommend you catching an episode yourself, just to see.
