For I myself have not.
I'm still terribly behind, as i've only seen the first one. More than likely I'll wait until SAW 4 Comes to DVD, purchase all of them in their inevitable special box edition form, and watch 'em back to back.

Have any of you seen this flick? Was it worth it at all or were the makers simply pushing it with a fourth film?

I saw it and I really liked it. I thought it was well done and interesting. They never ruun out of ways to mutilate people, I'll tell you that. I've seen all of them but the first one. I really need to catch up on that one.

I've only seen the first one and refused to watch the rest of them. I don't understand why people would want to put images and ideas like that into their brains; isn't there enough awful stuff going on in the world? I don't mind horror movies that involve something supernatural (The Grudge, for example), but when it's people doing horrible things to people, like in Saw or Hostel, I fail to see the attraction.

The Saw series of films is a perfect example of a good thing gone bad by dragging it out.
The first Saw, that was amazing, it's one of my favorite movies. The second Saw, I was all, "Meh, but if they can keep this story a little interesting, then keep going." The third was just terrible and boring, and the fourth, even worse than the third. And well, they already have plans for a fifth and sixth. =X

Basically: If it's good plot you're looking for, don't bother with this one. If it's gore and action, then it's perfect.
If you are terribly attached to the series (like I inexplicably am) or you feel like you need to finish a series once you've started, it might be entertaining.
The way I survived the movie was by ignoring the story and just thinking, "Yeah, gore, cool. This is a well-made movie."
