Scan of EW's July 2011 Issue: TV's All Time Sexiest Couples

Wow, awesome!! 🙂 I think they could have chosen a better pic of the two of them, but that is amazing that it's more than 10 years later and Buffy and Angel are still their #1 pick!

Besides, the Angelus storyline is part of the whole Bangel relationship. Can't delete that out!

It's part of the storyline but not of the coupling, for despite my wishes, Angelus and Buffy were never a couple.

Better picture than picture of shirtless Angel with his charming half smile that makes most of the girls take their clothes of, and Buffy's deep, deep look with her finger sliding on his abs? I don't think there is one 😀

I saw this the other day while in the waiting room at the doctors office and it made me giggle out loud...needless to say it was a very quiet waiting room and I got some strange looks. 😱

I love our ship. ::heart::

Oh, are you talking about me? No? Ok then, I'll be in my bunk.

Bangels win. Spuffy's lose 😀

*Hides from angry Spuffy's*

Shame on you!! This is a time for all Buffy fans to rejoice, regardless of one's preferred ship. It is time to end the rhetoric... time to cross party lines.... time for us to come together as one.

This isn't about Spuffy losing or Bangel winning... this is about Buffy Fans across the world holding hands, watching BtVS with friends and family, and celebrating the fact that EW has acknowledged our show as one of the most important shows in television history.

Today let's enjoy our victory. Tomorrow we can discuss the morality of a 240 year old man hitting on a 16 year old girl. 😉

It is a about Bangel winning a little bit though ;) :p

BANGEL FTW!
The first season was only half a season, and at least half of the half season they were not a couple. The second season once they knocked boot, half of that they were not a couple. The third season Angel was in a hell dimension and was all grry when he got back. Between the episodes where he was indifferent, evil or psycho there really would have been one seasons worth of true coupley action.

What's the sexiest thing in the world? The imagination. It's the build up, the separation, what could happen. It's not seeing what they did do that makes them sexy, it's the thought of what they could do. Bangel is built on that. It crackled in every scene they were in. I'd put my money on that being a big factor in this.

I feel ya.. I just think there were long couples which were hotter in their longevity.

I'm still aware of only 1 or 2 things I'VE EVER liked that was over-rated. I prefer the under-dog, underground type stuff anyway, so this actually I prefer. I might feel less Spuffy if they actually had widespread critical acceptance AND media accolades.

Yay, this will be good publicity for Ringer, and might keep Bones on the air longer. Plus, I don't think James is as well known as David is, so I would never had expected his pairing with her to be chosen. But, yay again that its not the Twilight gang.

Hmm, I don't see Bangel as sexy. They don't even have sex!
I do find them romantic, gentle and sweet. Sexy? No, sorry.

Also, no, Spuffy don't lose, beacuse there were plenty of lists where Spuffy were included, and not Bangel.

Ummm....season 2 they have sex. Plus you don't have to have sex to be sexy/ooze sex appeal. Example you might appreciate: spike and buffy/faith in season 4 body switch, spike season 2 stalking buffy; both times ooze sex appeal w/o actual sex ;)

If the bite scene in Graduation Day isn't sexy, then I don't know what it is. Being sexy isn't always, could even argue rarely, about the actual act of sex.

Plus, it could also have something to do with the physical appearances of the two; together they make a 'sexy' couple. (I didn't read all the blurb with the picture so I could very well be wrong!)

Nope you're right (about them being two fiiiiiine looking individuals) and I think you are right about the actual sex not necessarily being the sexy part.

I didn't see that scene as very sexy. She passes out at the end of it, almost dies. By him drinking her, the love of his life. To save his own. It might have been an attempt to seem sexy, but I don't see it. And by my opinion, they don't seem sexy as a couple. She looks like a child near him. That's just my opinion.
And I was kidding about the sex part 🙂

I am glad people even remember them. I am kind of shocked out of all the couples they were number one. I was expecting Sookie/Eric 😛 Kidding but yes that does say a lot about the fans of Buffy for them to be remembered.

Not sexy? *jaw drops* No sex? Let's see here: All the making out pre-Surprise season 2, Surprise, Innocence (images of the night before), season 3 dream-sex, the sexy almost-sex stuff in season 3 (they want to but they can't), The Bite (I'm sorry- sexiest.scene.ever), IWRY (OK, so it technically never happened, but not in Bangel's memories!), and of course, Butwangel season 8 sex (although sometimes we like to think that never happened LOL).

Well Sookie & her men are on the cover(s) of that issue I believe. If it's this same issue we're talking about: http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/06/23/this-weeks-cover-true-blood-skarsgard/

Personally I'd be excited if it were any Buffy or Whedon 'ship! But still, it's a good week to be a Bangel in particular. 🙂

Okay, see, for me, they only have sex once. In Surprise. The IWRY as you said, never happened. The bite, they might have portrayed it as sex, but there is no actual sex. The dream, is a dream. The season 8 sex, they weren't really there in the sense of, something made them do that. I don't call rape sex. (sorry if the last part was a little blunt, you guys, I know how it sounds).

On S8, whilst the glow enhanced their feelings, it didn't force them to do anything. Buffy and Angel had sex of their own free will. Several times. In space.

In fact, once they cross over into Twilight Buffy seeks Angel's assurance that the sex actually happened, that it wasn't just a dream.

The fact that it did happen and Buffy even comfirmed it, doesn't mean it was in their own will. It states that it wasn't their free will, but something that made them do it, several times. It was rape, for both, and it's been said.

By who? Fandom? Allie has said several times that it wasn't rape. That it was by choice.

Allie said that the glow simply brought the actual feelings of love and attraction that they share to prominence.

If it was just the glow controlling it all then Angel wouldn't be as responsible for his choices as Twilight as he is.

If they were anything, they were misinformed and illustrated poor judgement. But they both choose it.

He looks good any which way. Thanks for the post. I will definitely buy this now.
Yes I am glad to see any Whedon being recognized. Though I must admit they do recognize it quite a bit. I remember I think that IWRY was in 100 of the greatest episodes of all time magazine. I have it some where I need to look into that.

By Jane Espenon. By Meltzer. AND by Buffy.
I actually don't hold Angel responsible for what he did, because just like in the space sex, he didn't do it willingly or by awareness for the moment.
