i would say...caleb he made xander lose his eye!!! :jawdrop: also he was just plain creepy and he just wouldnt shut up will his "speeches"!
 
I'd have to say Caleb... I was going to go with the First, because it can take the form of any dead person, and that would definately scare the crap out of me if it was the right person... But they can't really do anything besides scare.
 
The First Evil was the scariest. It was the evil and/or darkness within all of the characters. And the worst enemy that anyone has to face is him or herself.

Thus the Angel comment, right? OK, I get it.
I didn't find any of the big bads particularly scary overall, but there were parts that spooked me, like when the First jumped out of Willow, or that weird little demon thing in CWDP, or even The First as Cassie Newton.

They all seem to be connected to the First though, so I'm going to vote for it, even though it became a bit of a chuklehead in the second half of the season.
 
I voted for the First. The idea of a non-corparal being that can be any dead person in the world and can't be physically fought, is pretty scary to me 😀
 
Gotta go with Caleb on this one. He's not some demon or vampire, he's an evil man. He was evil before he met up with the First, and probably would have continued to do evil if he never had. Plus all the casually mysogynistic (sp?) language and speeches creeped me out beyond words. I'm terrified of men who really hate women that much. He really did believe that women deserve nothing better than death or punishment. Eugh! The only Buffy villians to ever give me nightmares: the Gentlemen and Caleb.

The First just never scared me as much...I mean, intellectually, yeah, i know that it should be scarier, source of all evil, lives in everyone, blah blah blah, but fear isn't about what you think should scare you. It's about what makes you squirm, what you can't stand to see on the screen, what you can't listen too without getting that creepy-crawly feeling on the back of your neck or that cold feeling in your gut where you just KNOW that something bad is going to happen to your characters that you love.

If you really think about it, what made Caleb so scary to begin with, was the First Evil's influence - whether it was Caleb's evil acts and impulses, or his strength as was shown in "Dirty Girls".
 
Yeah but Caleb, as a human being has free will. It's scary to think that another human being chose to go down that road...

I disagree. Caleb mentions the other girls that he's killed before he met the First as an entity. Like the girl he gave voice lessons too, who "screamed on-key". He was a killer before he met the First, he loved killing. That is what is so scary to begin with. That he's just a guy...in fact that he's a PREACHER. He's supposed to be a safe person, and he's a cold-blooded killer. That doesn't come directly from the First's direct influence in his daily life. It comes from the First in the same way that my nasty penchant for lying could come from the First, in that it's evil or badness that's inside me. The First is not whispering in his ear, materialized in a form, telling him to kill the girls that he kills long before he comes to Sunnydale.

His strength is NOT what scares me. I was never scared of Glory, who also had the super-strength. What scares me is that Caleb is supposed to be a safe person, and yet he loves killing and hates women. The First Evil does not make Caleb evil, any more than it influences any other human being. He's a killer.
 
I'm a visual kind of person, and although the demon-looking version of the first is really scary looking, I chose the bringers. I chose what scared me most if i were face to face with it. I'd probably have went up to Caleb not knowing he'd casually snap my neck. But the bringers' no-eyeball faces would make me run!! (And the Ubervamps looked too 'rented-costume' when that one was giving Buffy the beat downs, so it kind of ruined its scare factor for me.
 
I am not easily scared, and I've always said that nothing on Buffy ever scared me... But some days ago, when I was watching Dirt Girls and some of the following episodes.. I realized it was actually scary. Caleb was scary, especially in the first fighting scene at the vineyard.. When you realize how strong he is.. when he hits Buffy.. and kills those girls.. and how depressing it all is, at once.. To me, humans are more scary than monsters, always..

I thought the First as Jonathan was a bit freaky especially in the episode where he looked very sweaty and said "so many dead girls".
This may be a bit random, but the Gnarl from STSP kind of creeped me out - it was mainly his voice though...
But I have to vote for Caleb. In the vineyard scene he was pretty scary, but the way he asked the First to take the form of all his victims, so he could act it out again, I think that shows how evil and scary he is.
 
The First. I know that The First wasn't even corperal, but it knew everything about everyone, it knew how to toy with their emotions, and knew all their strengths and weaknesses. So in a way, he was scarier and more powerful than even Caleb who beat Buffy to a pulp more than once.
 
caleb. the first couldnt really do anything. bringers and ubervamps died. caleb was a lot tougher.

I believe that he was really the scariest because he was human. An evil creature who is human just makes it more scary. The fact that he was a woman-hating {edited for content} really upset me and made me hate him. He scared the crap out of me!
 
Honestly i was a bit disappointed with the evil in season 7, they didn't really scare me in fact i laughed at most of them. I mean cmon the bringers they looked anemic and what was with their eyes. Caleb, no i wasn't really convinced with him. He didn't scare me, I mean i was shocked as he was dressed as a priest e.g. a canvaser for good but he didn't scare me. The Uber Vamp just seemed weird. Personally i found Dark Willow more scary than any of the above demons.
 
Warren as the First was fricking SCARY! *chills* I voted for the ubervamps because I forgot about him for a second. I usually think of the First in the Buffy persona.
 
I picked Caleb. But The First scared the sxxt out of me as the girl from one of the episodes before....pretending to be transfering a message from Tara.... I started crying....then she was the First and I starting shivering and crying even more. But Caleb.... oh my gosh. With the preist outfit and the southern accent and the thing about women AAAAAAH!!! ::runs:: It just scared the bejesus out of me. There ya go, :scared08:
