What was the scariest movie you've seen?
Mine was the Exorcist! Damn, I couldnt sleep for like 2 weeks!
It was so creepy, I watched it that one time, If people remember when it was on channel 4? And it was just so built up, and it was creepy becuase like, people would say, if you watch it, it could change your life, like you could go insane, or murder people or something.

The one movie that has had a big effect on me was IT, I read the book first and got an instant phobia of clowns. I watched the movie to try and get over the fear....big mistake. I am now petrified of them. I admit it, i'm 21 and I literary run from them when I see them.
 
OMIGOD! Me too! I completely forgot about IT, I cant watch that movie. That damn movie gave me clown fear in the first place!
As much as I really hate IT, The Exorcist it still my number one choice!
 
I dont find scary movies scary if you know what i mean. I find most of them funny like Scream 1,2,3 and Jeepers Creepers. One that did scare me was The Ring...cant wait to see Freedy Vs Jason...
 
Gotta love horror flix! I would have to agree that many are just funny but some of them to have elements to them that mess with my head. Going back to the begining when I was little...Poltergeist. That traumatized me for a long while. That's what started the clown phobia for me and I still get a bit nervous when the tv gets the static picture!
 
The one sticking out of my mind right now is The Ring as well because I just watched it for the first time last night. It's hard to walk through a dark hallway in your house after watching something like that. Anybody ever seen Candyman? I actually had nightmares after watching that one.

Faith, did you freak out when you watched Xander's nightmare in 'Nightmares'? I've seen IT a couple times, and clowns don't wig me out. A friend of mine is terrified of them... I really don't think she appreciated watching IT.😀
 
I find Jeapers Creapers funny yet scary!Im too scared to watch the 2nd one!
 
Oh god FivebyFive! I CANT watch the clown bit in 'Nightmares' well, except for the part where Xander punches him! lol!
 
i hate clowns. as a child my fear sleep involved me getting chased by a clown down the stairs of my house. an i couldnt scream. while running down the stairs id fall just out of sight of my mum and dad. an the clown would grab me and take me back up stairs into the clost where it came out of. it was evil! white bald (lol) sharp teeth and long nails. dressed just in white. i used to wake up every night.

I absolutly love horror movies but there is only one movie that scared me when I first saw it as a kid to this day it still scares me and I cannot watch it alone is none other then Tobe Hoopers Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The grainy way it was shot, the subdued lighting, the house where leatherface lives. The thing is I know its fake but I just cannot watch that film by myself. The weird thing is most people I know are not bothered by that movie. Heck I have seen ever Faces of Death film and none of them bothered me.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the only one that can ruin a perfectly good night's sleep if I can get to sleep at all that is

I hate clowns!They have thoes beedy eyes and big honkin noses!!!!And red mouths and ugly outfits!I think IT is the scariest movie EVER!!!!
 
Ahhh, horror movies, my fave genre!
"IT" was an entertaining movie for sure, but I never found it to be scary....clowns never did scare me.

I will agree with The Male Slayer on his choice of "THE EXORCIST". That is #1 on my all-time scariest movie list. It was innovative, controversial (they were shipping Alka Seltzer to the Archdiocese by the truckload), and even today it still retains it's power. That movie scared the @#$@#%%$ outta me!

These days, horror movies rarely scare. Entertain, yes, but not scare. The only thing that came the closest for me was the recent "DARKNESS FALLS", which came with a bonus for us Buffy fans: ANYA! 😀

Nah, I like the old school horror flicks...the 1970's and parts of the 80's produced some good ones. Here's a few of my faves:

~ THE OMEN

~THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE

~EVIL DEAD

~WITCHBOARD.......etc.

It petrified me.....and missy I don't appreciate that picture you posted, if I have nightmares tonight i'm holding you responsible. Your as bad as Dariodevil (on here and TDP) he knows i'm scared of them and still posts them to get to me...
