Suspense is great... just can't take gore

Id say the Final Destination movies were suspenseful. I love horror movies, but i prefer it the second time I see them. For example the Final Destination ones made me feel ill all the way through the first time cos I was just waiting for something to happen and i was so tense. Still great fun though.
I like gory movies but dont watch the gory bits. If that makes sense.
There are certain ones I dont like. I did not like Wolf Creek or The Hills Have Eyes. They were really disturbing. Too real or something. Its that kind of movie that gives me nightmares.
I liked Saw but I hated Saw 2. I felt so ill all the way through that movie. And the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

from when the guy got his leg cut off I couldnt watch the rest.

I sat and played with my phone cos I couldnt leave my friend at the cinema by herself.

I love The Devils Rejects though. Severely gory and severely sick and twisted. But so much fun!

I'd like to discuss this Final Destination movies being suspenseful thing. The Sixth Sense is suspenseful. Even Frailty is suspenseful. But seeing people get cut into pieces by a barb wire fence, or watching someone get their head cut off by an elevator, or getting splattered by a bus...definitely constitutes gory in my opinion.

Its suspenseful because you know something bad is gonna happen and youre not gonna see it coming

so in the second one I was just waiting for stuff like that to happen. Hence the suspense. The third one, not so much.

I have to say I love both genres of horror movies, I love the supsense and I love going to the cinema and jumping twelve feet in the air at them. But I do love the gory films too. Films like House of 1000 Corspes and The Devils Rejects, The 2 Saw films, Seven, Natural Born Killers. It's violence for the sake of violence and I love watching them, they are well written for the most part and some of them are incredibly smart.

Can't wait to see the Hills Have Eyes and Hostel

I love both, but I think that I'll go for the more gory movies these days, because quite often today's suspenseful movies are made too formulaic and end up boring, whereas the bad gory movies can sometimes still be fun.

Jonut; don't get your hopes up too high for Hostel... there probably wasn't one single scary moment (the gore was just bland and there was no suspense at all) in that film. Besides half of it was porn.

I love all kinds of scary movies, from suspenseful to gory...especially when they're new and you have no idea what's coming!
I prefer to watch them with someone rather than alone, but it is really annoying when your friends are too wimpy to brave them!
I've gotta say Wolf Creek is pretty nasty.

I enjoy horror movies and I enjoy the suspenseful kind a bit more. I don't even classify the gory kind as horror movies. Random phycho killers running around chopping heads off and stuff I classify as 'slap stick'.

I think of a horror movie as something that scares you...from the things that go bump in the night, hehe.

I have to say I prfer suspenseful horror don't gety me wrong gory is good but there's something about gore that makes me feel sick in the stomach. Although it's not exactly a horror film the only gory movie I've ever liked is Boondock Saints.

I prefer suspenseful horror movies. If I'm not on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens I don't really see the point. I know some people love gory movies though and that's cool but it's just not my thing. I don't mind gore in a horror movie if the movie is really good but lately it seems like they don't even try to make them scary.
