Scenes/Storylines From Buffy/Angel You Don't Think Were Well Written

I never like the whole idea of Fred/Gunn pairing. They had no chemistry at all and took way too long for it too end. Gunn was just a roadblock between WES and FRED. Gunn was better off with Anne or Gwen.

Lilah being killed.

Knox was another character was badly written into the mix. Another roadblock for WES/FRED relationship.

Gunn should have went back into his old gang in the beginning of S3, him being the leader, fighting against vampires and demons.

I have nothing against Spike on Angel S5, but he was there way too much screen time and had Wes, Fred, Lorne on the side line.

In S5, the episode Lineage, at the very end, when Wes shoots his father but find out it's not really him. I thought that was badly written.

In S5, A Whole in the World, where Gunn tries to make a deal in the white room, his life for Fred. He was trying to act all noble and stuff, so people can feel sympathy for Gunn. Not me.

In S5, the episode the Girl in Question, where Angel and Spike were looking for Buffy.
 
Yeah when Kate stopped showing up it was weird. I never really liked the character that much, but she was almost interesting towards the end.

Also I didn't like Doyle being killed off so early. I thought he was an awesome character, and didn't get a chance to really get developed. I thought he had alot of potential.
The way he died was fine, it just needed to happen a season or two later.
 
For me the entire 4th Season of Angel & 6th Season of BtVS.

Both these season seem to suffer from party poor writing. With characters doing things that were pretty uncharacteristic of their established characters.
 
Ok this wasn't bad storyline, but bad acting. Enemies, chapter 5, lol, faith and angel interaction ha ha ha such unconvincing acting. Eliza isn't the greatest actress, still love her though 🙂
 
Well I've just been watching Season 4 of Angel for the first time so I have a few issues with it - I'm really enjoying it for the most part (unlike the majority of people), but there were a few things I had a problem with.

Firstly - I felt like they destroyed Cordelias character, she had become so likeable through the previous three seasons, and, although I knew what was coming (I was utterly spoilered on Angel happenings), my fiance did not, and was saying how much he hated Cordelia, and even when it came out what the real story was, he was still not as in awe of Cordelia as he had been. Why Joss? Why?

Secondly - Connor seemed to unnaturally become a this dimension boy rather quickly considering that he had grown up in a hell dimension. I would have prefered to see him a little more rabid - after all, look at the comparison to when Angel came back in Buffy, and when Fred came back from Pylea.

Thirdly - What a stupid idea to have the Cordelia and Connor pairing. Absolutely hated it. Just seemed utterly stupid. The only comparison I can think of is if Buffy and Giles had have done the dirty. Gross.

i agree about "the girl in question," but i absolutely LOVED "lineage" so i don't agree about that one. i thought the story/plot was really brilliantly written--it's one of my favourite angel episodes, actually. it's very powerful.
 
I really disliked the whole Initiative storyline in season 4. Riley was a tad annoying.
I also agree with most of you on here that Kennedy should have never been. Maybe she could have been, but Willow rejected her and she died in battle or something.
The Cordy/Connor story was a bit bizarre. But then again, who knows what we would do if we thought the world was ending?

Don't get wrong, I thought Lineage was really good. Until the very end. The only problem I had was when Wes killed his dad, and found out, it wasn't his dad. It felt like it was a cop out and badly written. As if the writer(s) were afraid to go that extreme. Let's have Wes be sad... but not TOO sad. If it was really his dad, it would have been that much more intense and that much better.

lol, I scrudd up my karma, I wanted to say ''lol, Buffy and Giles together is almost better than Cordy and Connor'' Seriously, I also don't get why they paired them up together

And I agree about Lineage. I think they should have made it Wes' actual dad, it would have been so much more intense and actually beleivable

I always thought the direction they took Cordelia in Season 4 of Angel was awful. The whole demon pregnancy thing is SO overdone. Having her come back with "amnesia" was bad enough, and then having her move in with Conner...and having to see how much their little "relationship" hurt Angel...and then being impregnated with Jasmine, taken over by the Beast...killing Lilah...Ugh. I'm watching S4 again right now, and honestly, the only part of it I really enjoy is Faith's mini-arc, and Jasmine herself.

I loved Cordelia. She is and will always be one of my favorite characters in the 'verse. I'm really angry about how her character was butchered.
 
I only finished watching season 4 when I first posted in here, so I thought that I was only whinging about the season that was freshest in my mind... I look back, and realise I wasn't! I wish I could give you more karma JoanSlayer, but I can't. But I agree!
 
The last four episodes of S7, right after the Empty Places scene, the thing between Buffy and the Scoobies was so clumsy and badly written.
 
Yes, both the Cordelia and Jasmine storyline of Angel season four really left a bad feeling inside me.

But "Malcolm" was really that demon that forced people to be devoted to him. So it makes complete sense. Not saying it's the best episode, but logic and reason don't come into play in this episode.

I hate Riley, the Initiative, pretty much the major arcs of BtVS Season 4.

I also hate how suddenly the Oz/Veruca thing happened, I know it was because of Seth Green's timeline IRL but still.

Also..Angel + perfect happiness = losing his soul thing has always kinda bugged me. So just being with Buffy, holding her hand, being close to her doesn't make him perfectly happy? Seeing his newborn son's face, that doesn't do it for him either? I've chalked it up to the curse needing a fleeting, euphoric moment (orgasm) of happiness...not just an overall contentment...but yeah, still bugs me.

I get what you mean but since when is love known for making people smart or see to reason/logic? It's about feelings and those aren't easy to control. Being in Willow's situation didn't make it easier either. Willow might be smart but her lovelife didn't go well and the one she did like saw her only as a friend. The feeling of wanting to be loved and/or needed can make and do make people make "stupid" decisions. Just how it is.
