I think it's more than likely the other vampires and the Anointed One filled Spike in on what had been going on in Sunnydale when he asked "so what about this slayer, is she tough?" They'd have mentioned that Angel has been working against them and helped Buffy take down the Master.

'Schoolhard' is an awesome episode. I love Spike and Dru's iconic head turn and I enjoy the 'Die-hard' premise of the episode. It's also very cool when Spike lures Buffy outside at the Bronze and chillingly tells her how he's going to kill her.

The episode really had some great moments for most of the characters involved. Xander was very endearing when he initially refused to leave until he knew Buffy and Willow were ok, there's that fantastic moment between Buffy and Giles when he promises to make sure Joyce gets out ok even if Buffy doesn't and Buffy's bad ass when she confronts Spike. And who could forget Joyce, "you get the hell away from my daughter!" *Awesome*

I also loved Spike dusting the "Annoying One" thank the lord, he was a horrid character!

I got the Season 2 dvd set a couple of days ago, and watched "School Hard" on the train yesterday and today. It's really such a defining episode. We get Spike (and Dru) established as the Big Bad, we see that Snyder and the police are not blind to the underworldly activity in Sunnydale and Xander's hate against Angel is solidified with good reason. Oh, and of course there's Willow's lemonade moment. :cheering:

Spike definitely could not sense Angel's soul since he didn't in "Why We Fight" or during the Boxer Rebellion.

The fact that Angel betrayed Spike in Why We Fight (their last meeting) probably made Spike suspicious from the get go.
 
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes, I remember this one well.

The introduction to the BAD A$$ERY and MEGA HOTNESS of Spike. Along with the deliciously evil and GOTHIC beauty Drucilla.

I'm about to show my age right now...

grew up watching Juliet Landau's parents on the scifi cult series Space 1999. She's the spitting image her mom Barbara Bain. And a great actress, in her own right.

I love "School Hard" it's all kinds of awesome.

Spike seeing Buffy for the 1st time at Bronze

Willow sluggin a vamp, saving Cordy from being bitten.

Angel dumb as a "bag of rocks" plan using Xander to trick Spike.

Mama Summers going yard on Spike to save Buffy.

Drucilla talking to her dolls.

Spike putting the annoying little Toddler out in the sun.

I loved Joyce in this episode when she smacks Spike over the head and says "Get the hell away from my daughter". It was a classic moment. Even though Joyce had no idea what was really going on, She was still there to protect her daughter. Also, When Snyder says it's a bunch of druggies on pcp, That was pretty funny. Usually people on drugs don't bite people on the kneck for their blood, But hey who knows maybe times are changin? =p
 
School Hard is definitely one of my top 5 favorite episodes! It's a very defining episode that sets up for a lot of what happens later. I love how they introduced Spike (with his running over the sign--anyone else notice how that sign gets smaller and smaller each time they replace it? LOL) and Drusilla is one of my all-time favorite TV villians. I love that crazy girl, wish she could have had a longer stay! I LOVE the first time Spike sees Buffy and is watching her dance with Willow and Xander, I get a very sexy vibe from that scene. It cracks me up when he's like, "Call 9-1-1, there's some guy outside trying to bite someone" because of the utter lack of urgency or feeling in his voice.

Willow's underhanded bitchiness is one of my favorite things about her! From her, "Cordelia, have some lemonade" to "Ask for some aspirin" they really showed how being around Buffy and fighting evil has helped bring her out of her original shyness and brought ou her inner strength.

And the battle between Spike and Buffy really proved just how worthy an opponent he was for her. They're almost perfectly matched in this episode, and I really love that Joyce is the one who saved her. I cheer every time I watch her turn around and go back for her daughter, I think it shows that Buffy would have been a fighter for the good in this world even if she wasn't a Slayer... It was in her blood.

Love this episode so much, it's my favorite of Season 2 and also has some of my favorite lines. (Favorite of this episode: "Someone's in the ceiling." I love when Spike does the sing-song voice!)

Yeah, Spike made a great entry into the series in this episode, and I liked the battle scene at the end (especially Joyce hitting Spike with the fire extinguisher).
 
I watched this episode yesterday and OMG! I love it now still as much as i did when i first watched it. I love a lot of season 2 but this episode is pretty awesome. (sw)
 
The thing I love the most about this episode is definately Drusilla!

"Do you like Daisies? I plant them, but they always die. Everything I put in the ground withers and dies..."
"I think sometimes that all my hair will fall out and I'll be bald."

Is it possible not to love her?
Also, I lol'd so hard when Spike called the Anointed "the Annoying". :lmao: I don't even like Spike, but that made me love him a little, too.

It has one of my favourite scenes in the buffyverse: the entry of Dru and Spike
They were always my favourite couple. I absolutely love this episode
Season 2 is the last one I watched, so It was a little weird to see Buffy and Spike first in season 7 and after that in season 2

This is definately one of my favorites as well. Spike and Dru make a great entrance and their arrival was just so awesome that it's hard not to love them.

I fell in love with Spike the moment he mentioned Woodstock:

"If every vampire who said he was at the Crucifixion was actually there it would've been like Woodstock. I was at Woodstock... I fed off a flower person and I spent the next six hours watching my hand move." <3

Then when he just hoisted the Annointed One into the sun, easy as can be, and then walked calmly away with Dru like, "Let's go see what's on TV..." 🙂

His accent, the way he talked, something about him in the early days reminds me of David Bowie. Don't ask me, but it does 😀

Other than spike, this episode is kind of hard for me to watch. My mind just starts wandering 🙁
 
The whole time I was watching this episode, I was screaming on the inside "BUFFY JUST TELL YOUR MUM. JUST DO IT. NOW NOW NOW." And then I realized that such a plot twist wouldn't happen because there simply wasn't time. "Miss Edith speaks out of Turn. She's a bad example and will have no Cakes today." Was definitely worth the delay.

School had is definitely one of my top three episodes of season two. I was actually watching it the other day. I feel like this was the only episode Spike is in where he is actually scary. After School Hard I think Spike's character as well as the make-up department behind BTVS started softening him up. The other thing I like about this episode is how much you can start to see that the characters care about each other. When Xander refuses to leave the library saying how he isn't leaving until he knows Buffy and Willow are safe, to which Giles responds "No one will be ok unless we get some help." Also when Buffy says to Giles that her mother is in the bio room and if she dies she knows Giles will get her out. All very touching to me. Plus, I'm a sucker for some good old fashioned vampire vs slayer violence we didn't get a lot of seasons 4 through 6.

Its just so funny that he somehow thinks this plan is gonna work and that its not the dumbest plan ever.
Even if Spike did take a bite, Angel wouldnt have so he would still be caught out. Its like typical Angel. I laughed though, twas truely funny.:lmao:

Definitely the episode where everything starts to kick off on BtVS.
It's awesome.
Choosing a favorite part, I don't even know.
Cordelia praying in the broom closet even after the police had been there, Willow telling her to ask for some asprin LOL.
It's one of those episodes that no matter how many times you watch it, it'll NEVER get old.
 
Spikes accent at the beginning of this episode always makes me laugh, its put on so much more than his normal "Spike Voice"

The best bit in my opinion is the contrast between Spike and Dru when hes explaining he'll kill the slyer... i love those two!
 
I didn't really pay much attention to his voice in any specific episode.
Though I have noticed through out the series his voice has become more natural.
