same for me!
Joss Whedon explained that sire reffers to any vampire previous in the 'line'
so because Angel sired Drusilla and then Drusilla sired Spike, Angel is Spike sire

LOVE your banner!
I rewatched this ep the other day and the difference between JM and his stunt double in the fight scene was hilariously obvious, 'cause JM had slicked back hair and the double didn't. One second this random guy was being thrown against the wall and the next JM was standing there like nothing was amiss. 😀

Gotta love the '90s.

Did anybody else notice that it is Giles who is saying the intro? Have they changed it? Because it used to be another voice, I`m also rewatching but didn`t notice this before (or maybe didn`t care) I interpreted Spike`s you were my sire as if he was just looking up to Angel. And men can`t have women as their role models when it comes to learning masculinity and in this perticular case: learn how to be a male vampire. In this quest for vampiric masculinity Spike can`t see Dru as his role model i.e Angel becomes his sire. Since I`m rewatching both the fourth season (with a friend) and the second season things tend to get kinda confusing. Is this the first episode Spike and Drusilla are appearing in? I think it is cool that it ends with Joyce saving Buffy, though unbelievable why would Spike run off just because Joyce came along when he had nearly killed the slayer? I don`t really like Spike and think that the show would have been better without him or if he had been modified. And also they reveal that Snyder knows what`s going on. Why was he then nearly getting himself killed by almost climbing out the window in to the arms of several vamps? Or doesn`t he know that Buffy is the slayer? And also an open request: Please somebody write fanfiction about Willow/Cordelia, they would be so cute together 😉 Spike is kinda funny when he kills "the annoying one" 😉

Another thing about Spike in this episode is that his accent is totally different from what it is later. It sounded like the British equivalent of street punk slang. In later episodes, his accent takes on a more educated tone.

Same with SMG in that episode. She had short straight hair and it turned into a little longer wavy hair for a second.

I think that this can also be put down to Angelus having made Spike what he was at the time. In season 5 of Angel, Spike points out that Dru may have turned him into a vampire but it was Angelus who made Spike a monster.

I agree with the Angelus turned Spike into a monster, I really like this episode this where I loved Spike and as a english person myself I am glad Spike did not speak posh which a lot people think we are posh >.< I always say Bloody Hell like Spike haha I don't know why, I was watching this episode with a group of friends and they all can tell you my fav part is when he kills the annoying one god he is annoying!

I've actually never noticed this before either but I'm about to watch this ep so I'm going to watch for it. But jr243 is right, Angel is still Spike's sire because Angel sired Drusilla. Very interesting though.
