Ok I saw this poster of a famous basketballer and it said "I click off the light switch in my room, and lie in bed before it goes dark" or something along those lines, and im just wondering, is that actual posible? its been bugging me, and seeing as I dont have any brains, I was wondering if anyone that does could tell me??
 
Nah, don't think it's possible. It's just an advertisment of how fast he is in the sport world! You'd have to be really fast to be able to make it into bed before your light goes off! LoL 😀

Nope, can't happen! (unless he's already IN bed when he turns off the light). Electricity travels very fast...not the speed of light, but close! Even taking the time it would take for an incandescent lightbulb to stop glowing, it would still be a fraction of a second from the time the switch was hit until darkness fell. He's just using the old baseball description to illustrate how fast he is (that particular description has been around for decades).
 
You could have a timer chip and capactiors etc to have the light slowly go out. It's more a systems & tech question (and I did systems and control GCSE)

Yeah, that'd work! I'd be more inclined to use a relay witha built in delay timer...it's kinda what I do at work...🙂

Well im not to great, I got a B but that was becasue a friend helped me a lot (and I got a better mark then him, which was unintentionally mean). Its amazing, its been about 8 months since I've done it and I can't remember much.
 
Awwww... don't take it personally Faldor. I'm sure he didn't lie to you alone. What about this poor girl who thought it actually possible? LoL 😀 I know nothing about basketball though... so what do i know? 🙂
