Talk about science here...feel free to go into as much detail you want about any topic of science in this thread...

Is this an attempt to have me and Lorne shut up about quantum theory in the other thread?

Anyway, I like science, can be very useful. I love nuclear physics, quantum theory, astronomy and such. Hate chemistry, that's just a bunch of neat tricks, no real science there.

Biology is better, plus can Psychology be considered a science? I think so, as its adopts all the scientific procedures e.g. laboratory experiments, hypothesis, testing this etc...

psycologi is fun 😉 (even though i'm more of a social 'science' girl... i liek studying crime and stuff ) LOL

i study psychology at uni, and we have lab class and stuff so i assume its science based plus my degree is BsC not an arts degree so....

haha, i thought this exact same thing when I read the topic for this thread...

I like science but I'm somewhat nihilist, so I don't believe there is real truth or meaning behind it and since lately I've been reading mostly quantum mechanics-related stuff, it seems to prove the nihilistic point eliminating the nihilist paradox and creating and even bigger one...

I think psychology and all those are social things, are sciences too, but they're alfa-sciences, not the bèta-sciences, which are physics and such.

Quantum mechanics, doesn't prove the nihilistic point of view, more so, quantum mechanics seems (at least to me) to allow the possibility of higher beings and divine intervention (though not in the conventional sense).

if you guys don't want it...i'll get delete this thread...and delete whatever pompus posts about quantum physics you'll post in other threads that have nothing to do about science....you dudes need to stop acting like ungrateful know it alls....

Lol, can't stand it, can you? Hey, we're staying on topic, we're not spaming and I don't see any other thing we're doing wrong here. Any other staff-members have an opinion on this!

nihilistic point of view - there's no real truth or meaning, for something to be absolute truth it should be truth in every possible place, there will always be some parallel universe where that "truth" does not apply, therefore there's no real truth

Depends on how you look at it, the real truth is that any truth is appliable, so there is a real truth, but then that can be broke, but if it is broke, another truth can not be true, which cannot be the case ... it conflicts with itself, this theory in quantum mechanics.

Happy Mole Day! (Chemistry thing, might be physics, but our chem teacher told us today's Mole day...so yeah...)

lol...mole day??....all i can do is shake my head in dissapointment for the scientific community...no wonder why people think scientists are nerds...

Lol... this is so funny that I know what Mole Day is. My chemisty teacher taught it to me today. Something with 6.02 x 10 to the 23rd power.

That's avogandro's (sp?) number isn't it? I'm in organic chem this term. I've forgotten all the general chem stuff already.

Yeah, that's the guy. All I know is the name... nothing else. My chemistry teacher didn't explain it all very well.

I just wrote a paper about where the moon comes from... pretty not exciting. Now I'm eating rice.
