when it comes out here tomorrow i'm going there to be one of those jackasses who go to a movie just to say how much they hate it. ::snow2:: zoinks
 
I'm so happy that Scooby Doo made so much $! I don't understand why it got such bad reviews cause it was such an awesome movie! It totally kicked ass! It made me laugh so hard! I think that the cast did an amazing job. Matt Lilard sounded so much like Shaggy! I swear the role was ' meant ' for him! 😀 I love how Daphne kicked ass! I felt like I was watching Buffy! Sarah is so funny in the movie. I was really surprised to find out who the ' big bad ' was. It totally shocked me! 😱 I think that there's gonna be a sequel! That's so cool! I can't wait for that!

It seems you can teach an old dog new tricks after all.

After foiling their first whodunnit on the big screen, those darn kids--Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy--and their cowardly canine will be back form more sleuthing: Warner Bros. has announced it's already working on a Scooby-Doo sequel.

Excited Warners execs made the announcement on Monday, after tallying the flick's zoinks-worthy weekend receipts.

"The franchise is beginning," Warner Bros. distribution president Dan Fellman tells Daily Variety. Fellman says the studio has greenlighted a sequel slated for a 2004 release. But he provided few clues about the next installment, save the studio's desire to see the film's original director and cast return for another go-round in the Mystery Machine. Fellman didn't say if any of the Scoobsters were contractually obligated for a return engagement, but E! Online movie columnist Anderson Jones reports all the talent is signed for the sequel.

Despite generally scary reviews, the first live-action adaptation of the classic kids 'toon (minus the drug references) saw Scoob and the gang collar $54.2 million weekend at the box office, the second-biggest June opening ever, falling just short of the $54.9 million bounty collected in 1999 by New Line's Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. The lovable Great Dane with a phobia for ghosts gobbled up more than twice the green as the nearest competitor, the spy thriller The Bourne Identity starring Matt Damon.

"Certainly the success of the opening exceeds our highest expectations," says Fellman.

Better than a Scooby snack, you might say.

Well, I'm taking that as good news. It's good for Sarah anyway. But since she is obviously getting noticed here, she might want to leave "Buffy" even more, to do movies. I mean, that's what she wants to do, right? But, hey, I'm all for my favorite girl getting what she deserves.
 
Re revenge demon: joins in with the crying

I saw Scooby Doo in theatres, and I have to say it was pretty bad. The plot was lame, it was predictible, and the only funny parts were Sarah. Sarah was the best part about the movie. She did a good job with her character. Despite that, may I say "Blech." Like Oz said, it's becoming a mass marketing project.
 
I saw it and it wasn't bad. I liked it. Sarah did an excellent job with Daphne. It wasn't meant to be Oscar-worthy, it was meant to entertain with sillyness. And that it did.
 
I'm looking foward to seeing it, it's kind of sad, it has been out for a few weeks and i haven't even seen it yet. I'm hoping to see it soon, even if it didn't get the best rating, that won't stop me from seeing it!😀
 
I didnt particularly like the movie. The cast were great but the storyline wasnt.

I thought that the storyline was for adults, the kids in the cinema didnt get it! But the humour was for kids. It was like they couldnt decide who it was meant to be aimed at.

Apparently, according to a crappy magazine, SMG & Linda Cardellini 'shared an intimate kiss' which had to be cut out because they decided it should be aimed towards children. Somehow, i dont believe it...............................
 
In an interview that I saw with SMG, she said that she kissed Linda. She told what scene it was from, and she even said that Linda is a really good kisser. Lol.
 
i completely agree with Oz! i recently seen scooby doo and althought it wasnt one of the best movies ive seen i thought it was really good for younger vewier , i took my little cousin with me and he was sqealing and laughing he seemd to love it and hes a buffy fan so everytime someoen called her Dafny ( unsure of spelling ) he was like no no thats Buffy ,
i dont think anyone should listen too much to what the film revewiers are saying becuase like Oz said its only one persons opinion !!
