1. How (and why) did you find BB? What were your first thoughts about it?
I had made a very silly youtube video. I was kinda embarrassed about it, so I wanted to show it to someone who were as obsessed with Buffy as I am. The BB boards are very easy to find. Initially, I was completely overwhelmed by amount of sensory input. There are a lot of subforums and they all have funny names
😛 The people here are really nice, so I decided to hang around. Pricey and MetDa were quick to reach out and bring me into the fold.
2. What was it about Buffy that made you fall in love with the show?
It was a slow process for me. My English weren't so good the first times I saw it and a lot gets lost in translation. After my English got better, I found there was a rythm to the way the characters spoke that really got me hooked. After that, I discovered more and more things I liked about it. Seriously, it is literally the perfect show for me.
3. Who is your favorite Whedonverse character?
*drumroll* Willow *gasp!*
Coffee. I drink a lot of coffee. I am drinking coffee now.
5. What movie do you watch when you're sick?
I never get sick. Up until this autumn, I wouldn't have had time. If I feel a little under the weather, I take a pill and everything is fine. "Is there a way to find a cure for this implanted in a pill? It is the name upon the bottle which determines if it will." There are a lot of movies I like.
Big Fish is one.
How happy are you to answer questions?
I haven't made up my mind, yet.
What's your favourite quality in a person?
A lot of people say honesty and modesty or somesuch. Screw that! Passion is what gets me. Passion and personality.
Do you like Willow more than your RL friends?
Ha! Willow never leaves me
😛 I don't know, I have some lovely friends that I love very dearly. That being said, I have probably been a more loyal BtVS fan over the years than a good friend to my friends. If Willow was real, I would work very hard to make her the bestest of my friends. Does that answer the question?
😛
Describe your best friend
There have been a lot of people over the years whom I have called my best friend. The most recent one is perhaps the one I love the most of all. She belongs to one of the most infamous independent Christian communities in northern Scandinavia. She is extraordinarily passionate to the point being obsessive. She is eerily intuitive and reads me like an open book. Her sardonic humour will crush you. She is drop dead gorgeous. I haven't seen her in over a year, but she is still the person I reach out to whenever I need it. Loveliest human being in the whole world. Maybe better than Will.
What country would you like to visit?
America! And I am going to! In January
😀
Which language would you like to learn?
I am very happy just knowing English. German, Russian or French would be the most useful. I could probably teach myself German if I applied myself.
What is your favourite animal?
Dogs. I love dogs. A little bit allergic, but I love them. I have been nagging for my brother to get a schäferhund, but his life is really busy. He says he will get a dog when he gets kids. I tell him I will babysit ... the dog, not the kid
😛
Do you like travelling alone?
Yes, I do, and I have. Travelling always makes me happy. I have never been on holiday by myself, but I had to explore the world on my own sometimes for various reasons. When I go to the US in January, I will be going all on me lonesome.
When travelling what kind of packer are you?
The type that brings way too much. Packing light requires planning. I use my brainbox as little as possible.
What was the last book that made you cry?
The saddest thing about me is that I don't cry
🙁 I blame my upbringing. I think I have gotten more in touch with my emotions though, and I have always had a romantic bent. Let me think... I have mostly been reading these stupid science fiction books this semester and before that, I wrote my thesis on Zadie Smith. That is not exactly tear jerking material.
Miranda July really comes through to me on a human level. "It Was Romance" and "Mon Plasir" from the collection
No One Belong Her More Than You are really sweet stories.
Nine Lives by Ursula LeGuin is really sad, if you love sci fi.
Pierre is Herman Melville's most underrated work, IMO. It is crazy stuff, but his ramblings can hit you where you live sometimes.
Most of the stuff I read is quite "cold", so I often go to BtVS for my emotional fix
😛
Have you learnt to speak 'New Jersey'?
No
😛 Doubt, I will. I only speak Norweglisch.
If Willow came to you at the start of S4 and asked for advice, what would you tell her?
I'd tell her to be brave and trust in herself.
Should Willow have tried harder to un-rat Amy?
Why?
😛
Is Willow gay or bi-sexual?
This little nut
😛 I like to think of her as bisexual. Willow struggled with her sexuality long before she began looking at girls. Thinking of her as exclusively lesbian kinda ruins
New Moon Rising for me. Sexuality is not a stable thing. Gay (1999-present) is a bit silly, but she could come to find that she was happier being with women. The textual evidence is all over the place.
