Ok, we were discusing about Scoobys actions in Empty Places and Dead Man's Party, and how they had treated Buffy. But what about Homecoming, it wasn't big deal, but let's face it, wit friends every betrayal is big one. The fact that they've choosed Cordelia over Buffy is horrible. Should I spell it out once again C-o-r-d-e-l-i-a. The girl who torutred them and were treating them like crap for years. They've choosed her over their best friend. Xander said she's his girlfriend, that's fine, but what's about Friends are forever, boys (hoes) are whatever or Bro's over hoes (HIMYM) and Hoes over bro's (OTH). And what's Willow's excuse? What does she owe to Cordy? I like Cordy, this is not about her, it's about Scoobys actions, which were in my eyes wrong.

In defense of the gang in this particular instance, Cordelia was planning her campaign well before Buffy's own spur of the moment entry. Certainly, if the they had known in advance that she planned on running, Willow and Xander would have jumped right in on her side. By the time that she did make the decision, however, Cordelia had already asked for their help and they had agreed. Once that commitment was made, they pretty pretty much had no other choice.

I have to agree with WA on this one and stand by Cordelia. She was Xander's girlfriend, of course he was going to help her, as he should. Buffy decided to run for Homecoming Queen out of spite, because she was jealous of Cordelia. Cordy had been running her campaign for weeks, we can assume, before Buffy decided to jump in the race, so she'd obviously had the time to ask Willow to compile that database for her, which was almost done when Buffy suggested it. As Oz said, where Willow goes so goes his Nation, so it makes sense that he'd want to work with her.

Okay, admittedly, Willow and Xander were a little over-enthusiastic with their help after their kiss, but I still think it's a little selfish and arrogant of Buffy to just assume that Xander and Willow would help her, considering one of her competitors was Xander's girlfriend.

I agree with WA and Lyri. Cordelia had already been planning to run, and the gang had already told her they'd help her with her campaign before Buffy decided to run against her. I felt bad for Buffy, but I understood the Scoobies' actions.

I understand Oz and Xander helping Cordy over Buffy given the situation. But i'm a bit surprised at Willow. Fair enough Cordy asked first but for Willow to choose a bad person that bullied her(for years?) over her best friend? Kinda sad.

Yeah, but don't forget, Willow's a people pleaser, she just wants people to like her. AND Cordelia probably asked her first, before Buffy even thought about running. Add to that the kiss between her and Xander, she thought she owed Cordelia her help, to make up for making out with her boyfriend. I can totally see why she chose to help Cordy.

"Your best friend always sticking up for you, even when I know your wrong"? Willow failed specatcularly here.

I can't help but agree. Best friend, and I mean truly best friend, trumps everything. Or at least it does in my book.

Oi, biotch, that's our song, don't go giving it to Willow and Buffy!!

Xander is Willow's best friend, that's where her loyalty lies. Buffy is A best friend, yes, but Xander will always comes first in Willow's mind, and when stuff happens between Willow and Xander, I can understand why she thought she needed to be on Team Cordy.

I'm not saying I would have done the same thing in her position, I'm 100% certain I wouldn't have BEEN in her situation, what with the cheating and the kissage, but I can see why she felt she needed to do what she did.

Plus, if Cordy asked for Willow's help first, and Willow had agreed, it wouldn't really have been in Willow's character for her to drop Cordy just because Buffy decided to join the race and demanded her help.

Right. It was Xander and Willow who shared the yellow crayon and Aquaman briefs memories, even if we didn't know about them until Seasons 6 and 7 respectively. No matter how close Willow and Buffy had become by that time, Willow was certainly closer to Xander, and almost certainly always would be.

Having said that, I don't see any conflict whatsoever if Willow had given Buffy a copy of the fact sheet that she had composed. It was all public knowledge, after all. All that Willow had done was to complie it all into a single file.

I wasn't giving them our song! You gobshite! But I do think that Willow was Buffy's BEST friend at this point, numero uno, not just one of many. I also think Willow was very much aware of that and I think Willow knew that Buffy needed her.

As for Xander? well it didn't really effect him if Willow helped or not. The only thing that really could have caused Xander trouble with Cordy was him not helping her. Being polite shouldn't have gotten in the way of Willow doing right by Buffy.

And yes I am completely biased since Buffy is my favourite character and well Willow is...not.

I thought they were helping Cordelia because they were cheating together, but then it's been a long time since I've seen this episode.
