I'm confused by #6. Why exactly did Angel become Twilight again? In #6 he says that he did it to stop the world from going to hell, but in Season 8 he was prepared to "ascend" to the Twilight dimension and end the rest of the world? Did I miss something or did I underestimate how much he was affected by the glow?

I love the art though! Wow.

The art looks good. It's hard to tell about the writing from those few panels. No big surprise, Angel has once again made his usual miraculous recovery, but still tossing in a brood scene here and there. Also no surprise, he seems to still be using his "somebody told me..." excuse for the whole Twilight disaster.

Yep. The old Angel's back. I'm just wondering how he's gonna get what's left of his crew over there to England.

There's some IDW in there. He was shown a bleak (and that is being generous) future-a world ruled by demons, human farms etc- when Whistler came to convince him to become Twilight he told him that that future would happen if he didn't do it.

Ohhh...I get it now. That makes so much more sense. Looks like I'll be catching up on the IDW stuff before Season 9/Angel & Faith starts.

Yeah, I hadn't planned on reading all of IDW but it definitely helps fill in (some) of the blanks from S8. Kinda. :s

There are also those things called PASSPORTS, of which neither Connor nor Illyria possess, and once that little technicality is overcome, AIR FARE, though I guess Angel could hit Faith up for a loan to cover that.

Allie has always been a bit sketchy on that though. One minute he's saying he wouldn't call it canon and the next he is saying what happened on IDW will count.

Either way, in this specific case, he was shown the absolute horror and told he had to stop it.

I pressume S9 is going to confirm whether or not Angel actually has prevented that world or created a worse one 🙁
 
Did everyone in LA really forget the whole sojourn to Hell?

I always read it that the populous remembered, but just kind of rationalised it as something else to kind of make the truth less hellish....

Spike and Dru managed to get across the pond in the 90's. Dracula, too. In the comic world, I don't think it will prove too difficult to get them there if they so choose. Even without magic, the logistics of the modern world aren't much of a roadblock.
 
I'm reading the IDW comics now, but I find I'm getting very distracted by...BOOBIES!!! My Gawd!!!

I am loving the art. I wonder if it's going to be weird with different artists doing each series. I wonder what they'll do about the crossovers.

I doubt it will cause much bother. ATF and S8 ran just fine. As for crossovers, I'd expect the artist of the title that is housing the "Crossover" will do the art. So if Buffy shows up in A&F, she will be drawn by Isaacs, and if Angel shows up in Buffy he'll be drawn by Jeantry.

Who ever is doing the art for this, needs to do the art for Buffy. I can make out who is who!

That really makes me happy. Please tell me the person who did the art for Buffy season 8 is not doing it for season 9.

*EDIT* LMAO OMG... I feel like an idiot... I didn't look closely enough, I guess... I thought that was Faith, when it's clearly Jenny.
 
I LOVE where they seem to be going with the storyline. It will be interesting to read and the art looks amazing! 😀

The art seems much better than the Buffy comics. Though Angel's face could use some work..and his chest 😵. Maybe that's just me though.

It's interesting that Angel and Faith are going to solve Giles' cases. This is Ripper but with Angel replacing Giles, I heard Scott or someone else mention that Angel and Faith is what Joss wanted to do with the movie Ripper.
