Scrapped Storylines/Arcs in the Buffyverse you liked...?

You also forgot Xander as Glory's half instead of Ben and Giles killing him in The Gift.

Don't think it was mentioned, but apparently Xander was originally the character who was going to turn out to be gay.... I don't think i could picture it though. as far as the character goes, i just don't see it.

I can SO picture it and with Spike. 😀 At least we'd get rid of the whole Xander doesn't like vampires thing and he'll grow far more than he did with Anya.

I would have been pro a Spander relationship. Spike would have been great for Xanders character growth.
there's also Connor reconciling with his father at the end of AS4, & staying for S5.

Lilah being the liaison of the Senior Partners.

Spike dying in BS2

Angel not coming back after BS2

Doyle staying 'till the end of AS1, & Wesley supposedly guest starring in the last 3 episodes of the season (instead of Gunn), Doyle dies at the end of the season, & Wesley becoming a regular for AS2

Faith becoming the regular after AS2, not Fred (am not sure about this one, my friend told me about it, I haven't read it anywhere)

the focus of the last arc of AS5 being Illyria, & The Senior Partners stuff was supposed to go slowly in AS6

Dawn sacrificing herself in "The Gift" instead of Buffy, but because the script was leaked, JW changed it (the show would've been Dawn-Free, free of annoyance & forced memories :cool2🙂

I still know a few, but I can't seem to remember them all.

interesting, haven't heard of that one before, it seems like a good idea on paper, but bad for the series in the long run.

A big no no in Buffy appearing in Angel season 5 and You're Welcome. That would have ruined the series and episode for me.

I would have loved Oz becoming a regular, why didn't he? I didn't like Nina.

Would have loved to seen the Ripper movie also.

I agree that "you're welcome" turned out well with Cordy instead of Buffy.
but they still needed Closure for Angel/Buffy/Spike, & by that I don't mean one of the 2 vampires gets back together with the slayer, I mean all 3 of them decide to move on, & by that I mean seriously move on, not just talk.
I also wanted to see Buffy's reaction when she hears about Connor, & especially his mother. wouldn't mind stuffing that in the episode with the love triangle. not "Power Play", though...the last 2 episodes were Angel episodes not Buffy, her appearance would be best in "The Girl in Question", Buffy, Spike, Angel, & Connor, all in one big fight...that's epic.

Buffy finding out about Connor would have been amazing television

I've never heard of this one either - it is a very interesting idea - anyone know any further details?

It IS interesting, though i don't understand how theyd explain why xander becomes her other half... and omg that would have been the most heart wrenching thing ever, having giles kill him? Gah. I think that's almost too dark for the show.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe this. Joss had been planning Buffy's death since Season 3.

I don't know about JW planning Buffy's death, so I won't deny it. but I know I've read somewhere that Dawn was supposed to be the one that dies in that particular episode, I'll post a link when I find it.

Angel & Faith appearing in Buffy's dream in "Restless", Faith was supposed to warn Buffy about Dawn, & Angel was supposed to translate whatever the first slayer was saying.

I just read about this one a few minutes ago, it would've been interesting.

I think about this everytime I watch Restless. I would have really liked to see that, I like Tara and all but I didn't think it made sense for her to be the one translating for the first slayer (also dear lord what's up with that pink thing she's wearing?)

Do these stories make it seem like Joss has no clue what he was doing.

Like the Story about Buffy getting 1 wish and bringing Tara back, while nice, is totally stupid.

And wanting to bring SMG in for Your Welcome, not Charisma, Your Welcome is one of the best Angel episodes, IMO.

And the only reason these didn't happen was because the actors chose not to come back!

There is a lot of coincidence and luck in Whedon's shows. If it hadn't been for actors' scheduling issues, we'd have had Tucker instead of Andrew and Whistler instead of Doyle. By now, I can say 'thank God', but who knows? We might have loved Tucker and Whistler in their roles and been unable to imagine the shows without them.

I love Doyle, but I love Whistler also so I wouldn't have minded. But thank god for Andrew!

Cordelia was also supposed to be in Restless, in the scene where Willow's giving a book report. She was going to taunt her like the old Cordy. Instead, they used Harmony.

Ya I wouldve loved that and always wished it had happened. Dont know why they found it so hard to get Charisma and David for filming.

And ya YW is perfect as is, but it probably also wouldve been just as good had it been Buffy instead of Cordy, but it wouldve been a different episode anyway since they would have to rewrite things.

As fas as Buffys one wish being Tara brought back to life...is this confirmed somewhere since Joss has always been pretty strong about death being death for the most part and I doubt he would do the wish thing. Amber was only suppose to come back for CWDP. Same with Xander being part of Glory, never heard of it. Espically since they were planning on having Anya die at the end of the season, no way they would kill off Xander.

Dont know if anyone mentioned Oz comign back for Chosen. Wish UPN had upped the budget for the finale.

^^^^ I don't know about Ben/Xander, but Joss himself talked about bringing Tara back by a wish. it doesn't make sense in so many levels, Tara is hardly Buffy's priority (nor Willow), especially in S7. & even if you ignore that, I doubt Buffy would want to pull her out of Heaven (its always possible that her soul was there).

I remember also reading that the plans for Xander in S7 were for him to be killed, but most of the writers didn't like the idea (or Joss thought the fans wouldn't like it, I don't remember the exact specifics), so he decided to make him one-eyed.
