Okay, I know the Scream trilogy is old, Scream 1's 10th aniversary (sp?) is coming up... But lately, I've been into Matt Lillard (who plays Stu Macher in the first film) and so I was just wondering what everybody here at the bb thought about the Scream movies?

I was really little when I first saw them, so naturally I was afraid. I know alot of people who think they are dumb movies, but personally I liked them.

Hehe, I loved Scream, especially the second movie if I remember correctly. They weren't great, in my opinion, but they were scary and fun and I guess that's the whole point of these movies, so they worked.

i watched the first scream alone in my room at like midnight...and i swear i couldn't get to sleep for like two nights...i was young then...but...i thought they were scary at the time...

scariest movie though is Aliens...

I like Scream, the first very one is the only one that still scares me and I've watched loads of times. The other two for me were more humour than horror, me and my friend just used to take the mick out of both of them..

I had seen all three Screams, and then got into Rose McGowan so I wanted to see the 1st again (as memory was shady) but was under 18 so I had to wait until it came on TV again. Then got into SMG and im still waiting for Scream 2 to come back on TV. Not too fussed about it, as I could buy the DVDs now.

Re:

Loved the Scream trilogy, have the box set! Pt 1 was definately my fave! I think I had nightmares about cell phones and scary movie trivia for weeks after I watched it for the first time...LOL.

I've seen Scream 2 on TV. It was okay. I will have to rent the original someday.

I've only seen the second Scream, as I only watched it for SMG. Little did I know she'd be on-screen for all of ten minutes. That movie was absolutely horrible.

I love the scream movies i have the entire trilogy on dvd, i thought they hwere absolutely brilliant, i loved them all but my favourite had to be scream 3, even though a lot of people won't agree with me that its the best i still think it was, especially the fight at the end with sydneys speech, you know the one: "do you know why you kill people because you choose too... so why dont you take some f****** responsibility... f*** you, F*** you and then the fight begins, classic!!!

I actually worshipped the first two films, but the last, I hated.

Fave quote: Movies don't make killers, movies make killers more creative.

I always thought it would have been cooler if Sydney was the killer in the third one...

Yeah, that's one of my favorites, too. Its psycos, not killers, btw. But I also love Stu's "K-iz-ool cuz Sch-iz-ool is ez-out" and that whole part. Most of Stu's quotes were my favorites like "See we ask you a question and if you get it wrong, BOOGA! You die!" and ofcourse there's
Stu (bleeding to death): Did you really calll the police?
Sidney: You bet your sorry a** I did.
Stu (crying): My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me

Scream 1 was my favorite, too. I don't really have an opinion on the other two, because I was too sad that there was no Stu. He was my fav character in all 3 movies. (not just because Matt Lillard played him, either!)

I own the DVD trilogy-box. As a matter of fact, I've rewatched Pt. 1 last night. It was great. Since I first saw it I saw an incredible lot of other horror movies (all the Nightmares, Fridays, TCMs, Evil Deads and some of the Halloweens) and that really makes the movie a lot more enjoyable, there are so many tiny refferences to horror movies. You have to love the janitor!

The movies are classics. They're part of my childhood 😉 I think the first two were so brilliant, because of the combined efforts of the genuis that is the writer Kevin Williamson, also the creator of Dawson's Creek, and the absolute horror-master Wes Craven.

I don't know which one is my favourite; I need to go rewatch Pt. 2 and 3 to make that decision, but I think it will be either 1 or 2. Without Kevin's brilliant dialogue the third episode just wasn't as good.

Love them. The comedy, gore and horror, it's all a nice little treat. The mask! is scary, don't ask I have a thing for masks, and it's forever marked by the Scream triliogy. personally however I think I'd preferred it to have stopped after the 2 first ones.

And Morbid_Much you should definetely check out Serial Mom, it's so much fun and Matt Lillard is so cute.

I love this movie series very very very much! Its one of my favs! First time I saw it, was when I bought it at wal-mart. I bought the 1st and 2nd one. It was a great movie, and I was scared to death to walk down to the basement by myself! I had to get my sister go with me. I was 12 at the time. Or maybe 13. I cant remember. Love the series though!

I've heard of that movie, and I watched it like.... 4 years ago. I can't really remember it, I only remember when the mom runs over the principal (if it was the right movie) but I will def. have to rent it! Is Matt one of the stars in it?

Yup that's the one. Kathleen Turner is real good in it. Matt Lillard is the horrormovie obssessed son of the family.

Woo! I will for sure have to rent that movie!

Yay, I just got back from the mall and guess what I baught at Sam Goodies?................ You got it! Scream! :trippy:
thanks for the recomendation, Jollyape

I love Scream, i've only seen the first two though. I just saw the second one about a week ago, i didn't think it was all that great. So so far the first one is my favorite.

Haha I loooooved that part. I couldn't stop laughing after he said that.

Woohoo! Last night I watched Scream 2 and 3 again. (I saw 1 Sunday night.) It was great. For anyone interested in buying the DVD the specials aren't as spectacular as one might expect but the cast interviews on disc 1 and 3 are quite insightful. The alternative ending on Scream 3 was pretty crappy; the scene was in low-quality and the music wasn't added yet, moreover, it wasn't that different. It would've been sweet to see the bad guy win for a change 😀
