So I'm getting ready to begin work on my Master's thesis, part of which will be an exploration of how to use Buffy to teach Literary Theory. Does anyone know of a place where I can get the original scripts for episodes (other than on the DVDs, which have a few of them, but not nearly as many as I'd need). I'd want them to be as official as possible, because they might be something I'd need to assign for a class!

Any thoughts?
 
I have encountered one site which claims to have most of the original shooting scripts - but it's hard to verify that fact.

You can buy script books for all of Season One and Two, and part of Season Three (I do believe they stopped after that) as well as the script book for Season Six's "Once More With Feeling":

You all are awesome. Thanks so much. I honestly didn't think they'd published the scripts, so I didn't bother to check Amazon before coming here to ask! Silly me.

Would you have a link handy, or is it gone?

I remember years ago there was a site like that, then when there appeared to be a commercial demand the site disappeared. I always kick myself for not saving them all when they were up.

It was interesting, because sometimes they were more or less what you saw on the screen. Others though had surprising changes. I remember Beneath You had some key changes. I think I have that one saved somewhere.

Every once in a while you'll be downloading transcripts, and you'll find one in script form which appears to be written with script writing software. I sometimes wonder if those are original scripts which have slipped under Fox's radar.
 
Here is one for Chosen. It's not anything official but hey, it's something. You could just put it in a document and print it.
 
As I recall that one has been proven to be bogus. There's a lot of old discussion on it if you want to try a site search.
 
Most scripts around today online are just transcripts people have done themselves. I am pretty sure you can't even find anything original online for free. I like buying from the fan club site. Although I want Chosen and it is still not back in stock. If it ever comes back that will be the day!
 
It's funny though. HittheBooks just pointed something out to me I did not know.

Do you remember how Buffyworld.com went down, then someone different put it back up? Well there seems to be some changes. They put up shooting scripts for the Buffy eps. The transcripts are still there as well. Check it out.

I'd say they're legal unless Fox takes them down, and so far at least, Buffyworld.com has always been considered reputable.
 
Jeez, how many times are we going to need a link posted to the same site.

Again the addition of "shooting scripts" is new to Buffyworld.com. They always had transcripts. It's also worth noting that at this time the "shooting scripts", are only available with Buffy not Angel.
 
Ok YAY. Gosh tho, printing Chosen and I am only at 15 of 48, lol. I am going to be here a few minutes it seems.
