How do you mean? Did they stop making that kind of knives? I see them on ebay from time to time(but that doesn't mean that they're still made of course).

The sword that I bought was the new carbon steel, as opposed to the previous stainless steel versions, which means that it can actually be polished, sharpened, and used to cut with. Like this:

which is a demo using the CONNOR Macleod version from the movies. Mine is the DUNCAN Macleod version from the TV series. Same quality, just different handle, and amazingly affordable. Anyone interested in buying one, I can direct you to the site where I got mine for under $50. plus shipping.
