Scythe Question

I have a question. When someone (I think Buffy, but I don't remember) is talking about the Sythe, they say "kills vampires three ways". What is the third way? I see the axe and stake so decapitation and stake stabbage. Am I dumb, or does someone have an idea?

I think it's just the lead in to the rest of the joke "It Slices, Dices and makes Julienne Preacher", not that there are acctually three ways to kill with it.

Thats so true Im sat here trying to think of the third way that a vampire can be killed with Scythe. Its easier for a demon but for a vampire its only being staked by the end and getting its head lopped off with the blade.

If anyone can think of the third way I want to hear this... or its the slicing in half way...

lol great suggestions everyone. I never understood the 'cutting in half thing'. Ya, I guess it technically detaches the head, but it was never done all throughout Buffy until the last few eps. I personally think that the ep was too rushed and that it was complicated to match Sarah's motions with the animated uber vamps. Anyone have thoughts on that?

Actually, Buffy never says that the Scythe kills vampires three ways...she said it kills HARD BODIES three ways, which to me implies demon-type demons, not only vampires. So, that would be the slicing, the staking and the stabbing, 'cause I'm guessing begin stabbed with the pointy end of the blade wouldn't be a barrel of laughs.

But technically being stabbed is being stabbed. If she stabs with the stake end of the pointed end of the axe it is still stabbing. So it would be kills hard bodies to ways with three instruments. lol I am just being full of crap.

Lyri got it... she said hard bodies, not vamps. I suspect the stabby end is made of silver, which would kill some things that won't die from just a regular stabbing with any ol' thing (think Fyarl/Giles in S4 ep A New Man).

It still bothers me that the vamps get chopped in half and are killed. Does this bother anyone else?
