This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between searches. Please try again in 65 seconds.

I have had something similar to the above twice!

The first time was 43 seconds

As I posted this, I got a proxy error.

I don't know about computer stuff like this, but just thought I would say something in case anyone else is having this issue!

Are you using a proxy server? Cause that's not a database error...

What I know about this interweb malarky you could write in bold and capitalised on the back of a gnats scrotum, to be honest.

Having said that, I am accessing the site the same way I have been since January using the same computer with the same wi-fi connection.

However, this isssue hasn't happened again and the 65 second thingamybob hasn't happened either so you could porbably close the thread.

Hmm...I'm not getting any emails about downtime, and since I wasn't on I didn't see any. I'll check with the host and see what they say about it.

It happened another time last week as well. What happens is it's almost like the page connects, but it doesn't display. It's completely blank. It's kind of like what I get sometimes when I block scripts.

This doesn't seem like usual downtime, this is a problem somewhere else I would wonder - however as stated, yesterday it was down from 10:30am GMT to 4:20am GMT today and its not the first time.

Well I've contacted the host about it, so we'll see if they can shed some light. Usual downtime I'd be getting emails with the database errors in them, but like I said I've had none.

Okay, on the subject of searches (I didn't see the need to open a new thread about this since this one is called searches and I have a problem with those 😉), since some time ago, I can't search the boards anymore. I go to search, I write down what I want to look for, I click okay, and I get a completely blank page. I mean, totally. No error message, nothing. Then I go back and try again, and I get the message that I have to wait for thirty seconds. I wait for thirty seconds, try again and get the blank page again.
Previously it just happened occasionally but since today or yesterday it happens all the time. Which basically means, I can't use the search function anymore.

The url of the blank page is the one for the page of search results if I'm not mistaken (buffy-boards.com/search.php?do=process)

What are you searching for?
I remember this problem came up before when some numpty was doing a search 'Buffy' and 'Cordelia'.

Obviously there are thousands of posts with those names in both separately and together - so what are you actually searching?

I was checking if there were any previous threads on Buffy references in other shows/films. I thought I vaguely remembered something like that but I wanted to be sure before starting a new thread, you see?
