comments I had after watching the season 1 finale, TO SHANSHU IN L.A.

It was nice to see David Nabbit again. (or is it Nabitt?) anyhoo... I was a little bummed when that character didn't recur anymore than he did. It would have been nice to know they had a good friend with lots of money on their side.

favorite quote: "Enough of the scratch-N-sniff visions!"

I thought it was odd that Cordelia was buying art supplies for Angel at the time I first watched this, but now that I've seen all the episodes, I remember than Angel is a really good artist.

about Vocah... the red eyes didn't bother me, but seeing red in his mouth creeped me out for some reason. Not to mention later in the episode when his mask gets pulled off... EEW.

about Kate... yes her dad was killed by vampires but she knew that Angel tried to save him, didn't she? Can someone remind me why she turned against Angel?

That was really nice to see Angel talking to Gunn (about Wesley and Cordelia), saying "These people mean a lot to me" and later when Cordelia give Angel a cup of blood and tells him "don't be embarrassed, we're family."

about Lindsey's hand getting cut off... anyone else wonder why they weren't able to reattach it? Surely he had his cell phone with him to call 911... I guess we wouldn't have got that episode later on when he got a new hand he couldn't control. 😉

At the end of this episode, we see that what W&H raised is Darla. I'm afraid that I have to admit it didn't mean anything to me at the time, I didn't remember who she was.

That's because kate first found out about vampires just after she saw her dad dead, and because of her grief she was angry, and took it out on Angel.
she had found out in the Prodical what he was, if i can remember rightly before this eppy, correct me if i'm wrong here! So combining her knowledge of Angel's past and her Dad's death she couldn't in her grief diffrentiate bet Angelus and Angel. As far as she was concerned all vamps were evil because of this. Even if she knew deep down it wasn't Angel's fault.plus she wanted to blame someone, and Angel fit the bill.

Darla's appearance did leave me wanting more, when i first saw the ending!

I didn't really like Kate's direction after season one at all. I used to like her but then I just started to be annoyed by her. My favorite thing about this episode was that it REALLY triggered a change in Cordelia. Other than that though, this is my least favorite season finale of all five Angel seasons.
