season 1 the best of them all!

i love season one, but it's not my favorite... I don't know... it's hard to say... season two and three have so much more feeling and emotion than season one... season one was great though.
 
Season 1 provided a fascinating basis and in its time was pretty amazing, but is no match for the later season! ... look at the acting, the plots and the haircuts!
 
Season 1 was to dark for me. My favourite season's are the one's that are up beat and have loads of stand alone episodes which aren't connected to the main story arc of that season. Angel was my favourite ep. though.
 
i like season one, i didnt like praying mantis lady, but its a solid series. no Oz tho, prob why its not as good as others (if i could do a sarcastic face this would be the time)
 
I liked The Pack, and the end scene in "I Robot, You Jane" is one of the funniest scenes ever. I also like Puppet Show and The Witch. Season one does seem a bit creepier than other seasons, though.
 
season one felt cold...dark...not buffy...guess they had to get the style right...

i didn't like how they started the whole series either...its like we missed a couple of eps...bad writing...and why doesn't Xander have any other friends other than Jesse who dies in the 2nd ep!!...falkin Xander never gets a friend again other that Oz...that' pretty gay
 
I thought season one was great. I just saw it for the first time. I LOVED Puppet Show. Dummies creep me out too, and the best line came from Buffy when they asked what happened when she was little. I'm not gonna try to even quote it 🙂
I also liked Nightmares for some reason. But you're right diminished, season one was creppy. That's why I loved it!
 
xander kind of made friends with Larry or at least they 'bonded' lol
and plus the whole point is that he's sposed to be a loser
hence why Cordy has such issues about dating him

its stupid, cause hes a hottie which we totally see in The Pack and Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered and Joss says it all the time, hes like 'Nicky's too handsome to be Xander, but we put up with it" lol
 
lol, i, being a guy, thought he was so....how to put it manly....not a nerd. he doesnt look like one, i suppose he acts nerdish in a way, but hed crack me up to much not to like him. Whereas willow is a nerd, couldnt get any nerdier. except jonathon. And those guys from weird science, they were nerds.
 
What are you guys talking about? Season 1 was the best!
It introduced the whole Buffy-verse very well and made us see deeper into all of the characters. I loved season 1 because it introduced all the characters for us and it sort of planned out the rest of the seasons for us as well.
Don't forget "The Witch, and "Angel" were the best episodes of the season. And come on, what better season finale would we wish for?
It was a good end to a season if it were not to be picked up for Season 2. In my opinions, season 1 was straight foward and there were no plot holes given to us so we can mingle and get confused, and the season ended beautifully with the whole gang leaving the library to go back to the prom.
It was bitter-sweet.

Season 1 will and always will be the best season.
I'm not saying this because it's season 1, the season "that started it all".
I mean look at 'Angel'. Angel's first season sucked, compared to Season 3 and four.
It's all about the balance and cast as well as story lines, and season 1 had that all planned out well perfectly. Joss introduced to us not only good characters, but awesome ideal plot and setting.

Season one was good because it introduced that characters and pretty much how they are. Not very many intersting monsters to combat.

It probided a great spirngboard for other episodes, monsters and further character developments.

season 5 is the best in my opinion and it always will be! I dont really like season 1 that much, i dont go out of my way to watch season 1 on dvd as much as i do for season 5!
 
it was ok... you gott' love the buffy quote though - "it's late, im tired and i just wana go home... show yourselfs."
 
Season 1 is so essential to the show. The characters since have grown, but what would that have meant if we never saw Buffy before she was in love, If we never saw Willow and Xander at their geekiest?

The most powerful moments to me are the first ones. The difference between a slayer and a normal person is heavily exagerated in season 1, as the rest of the scoobies were generally impotent; even Giles is wimpy at the time. That gives us depth that has been playing out for 7 seasons now. The scoobs always look to Buffy to have all the answers, it's habitual for them, and the pressure on Buffy is enourmous.

Almost every single issue the characters deal with have roots in Season 1 and 2. I couldn't love the show as much, if I didn't understand the beginnings.
 
Season One takes the cake!

Season One was my favourite because it was the start. A clean, new season, where nobody got confused. And I liked the darkness of it all. I hate those episodes where Buffy sits there complaining about the bills that were run up when she died. It's a bit like watching a poor man trying to balance his checkbook. Boring. But in Season One, every episode was a different story. 'Witch' was definitely the best. After that comes 'Nightmares' on my list!
 
I adore season 1, I think all the actors were so great, they completely "got" their characters right away. Buffy, Xander and Willow were just perfect as friends, the chemistry was there immediately, and I always love watching these old episodes to see them when they were all so young and everything was new. The premier was great, and I loved the Witch, and the Puppet Show and Prophecy Girl. I loved I Robot, You Jane partly cuz since it was alot about Willow it gave Buffy and Xander some great scenes together. I also liked the campiness of it, sometimes low budget stuff just works out.
