Season 1; things you would of changed/liked to seen/done different

The only problem with season 1 was the absence of Cordelia in two episodes! This is simply unacceptable...particularly when watching Cordelia and hyena Xander interact would be hilarious...and Willow needed more people telling her what a loser she was during that whole Malcolm fiasco...

Yeah, not a big fan of season 1. Obviously, all of Buffy is great (well, maybe except Beer Bad...) but it's not one I rewatch often.

I agree. I never watch Beer Bad either.

I would have simply wanted MORE episodes, like the same amount of episodes we got in the other seasons. keeping Darla for a bit longer and bringing in more things. Would have been amazing!

I would love for the library to have a big skylight for dragons to break through.

I would have had Giles and Angel not getting along so well for a good long while. "oh a vampire with a soul, of course...you must be harmless and could not be lying." I expected more from Giles there.

I would have brought snyder in from the beginning and have Buffy save him from the hyenas. With Snyder seeing her power maybe we could work more with the mayor early on behind the scenes.

I wouldn't change a thing to make it look less dated, makes it feel more classic to me.

Probably more, but thats off the top of my head.

As far as the talk of their clothing, all fashion looks stupid eventually. People will say the same things about what people wear today. Besides, as someone pointed out, Xander and Willow are supposed to be nerds. Kind of cool nerds, but still nerds.

In less serious news, things I would have changed about season one:

I'd have younger Dawn appearing at Buffy's house, making sure she yells, "Get out" at least once per episode.
Spike should have had less screentime (though this would have been difficult, since the character didn't appear at all anyway).
Angel should have lost his soul after hooking up with Xander.
Season one should have been called season two and the movie should have been called season one.
Buffy should have been in the rock band Slayer.
Cordelia should have dressed more like Sid the Dummy, who should have been the real star of the series.

lol!, XD
The thing that bugs me is when someone tries to attack, so they barricade the door with objects. The lightest crappiest objects, you can think of. If i remember correctly, Xander puts a lamp in the way at some point. A bloody lamp, come on people. Oh, and cushions. What the hell.

lol Atticus!.

Kinda like when they put chairs in front off doors. Ya know chairs that would move if you pushed the door. People have too little common sense and too much bloodlust these days.

I fully agree with whomever said it was unrealistic. When a student, principal, teacher, etc. dies...there should be a day of mourning. When you find students hanged in the middle of the English room, you might want to think about taking a day off.

realistically, yes. But come to think of it... with the bloody Hellmouth under the school, that would lead to a big fat sign outside the school grounds:

"Sunnydale High - out of session since XXX days"... probably with an LED number counter. 😛

Okay, so I just finished watching the whole way through Series 1. & wow. Loved it.

There was a few things I thought could of been done differently and it may of been a bit better. As much as I enjoyed, it had a few dodgey episodes, as every TV series has.

The one thing I thought 'hm' about was probably, every time a dead person with no heart fell out of a locker, or a baseball levitated and knocked someone out or whatever, where the police, ambulance etc came and no one in the school seemed to bothered. It just didn't seem very realistic.

Your opinions?

In regard to no one in Sunnydale "noticing" when dead people falls out of lockers, etc - it's sopposed to be ironic. As Snyder says, the police of Sunnydale are "deeply stupid". No one seems to see what's going on around them, Sunnydale is merely a allegory for ignorant America.

As for what I'd like to see changed? Well, a whole season (22 eps) would have been nice 🙂 The more Buffy the better. 😉

Also how Willow and Xander got over Jesse's death so quickly if he was their best bud for years. They don't seem that bothered about it.Other than that I wouldn't change much else.

I think Xander was more bothered about Jesse than he let on.

I agree, I'm amazed that no one noticed how upset Xander was about Jesse's death in The Harvest. His famous "I don't like vampires." sentence was said because of Jesse's death. However, I wish the writers had Xander mention Jesse at least once after The Harvest.

I would have liked to see, or at least learn more about the Master. We know he was trapped in that church, couldn't get out, was very old and wanted to open the Hellmouth. What made him that different, that more evil than any other vampire?

Or have I just missed something?

I loved season one. I really, really did. I was campy, and didn't take itself seriously, and I loved every second of it. The only thing that bugged me was already mentioned here by most of you, and that's that Jesse was never mentioned again. It bugged me a little, but no where near enough for me to think about it more than twice.
