Boy is it dead in here! Let's change that.

What does everyone make of Buffy kissing Spike in issue 10.11? Confirmation that she still has feelings for him or just more meaningless lust? Let's hear your thoughts!

Mostly, I find it uninteresting and I don't even care how Buffy feels, it's a boring storyline. I mean, come on, another vampire? There's nothing left to explore here - it not only reiterates Buffy/Angel s1-s3 stories but also Buffy/Xander stuff from season 8. Worst of all, it's detrimental to Buffy as a character - never mind her previous experiences with vampires, she's simply too old to act like this. It's season ten, not season two. Also, there's the whole target the impossible ones issue that shows a remarkable lack of character development.

Don't worry as It will all end in horrible frightfullness of that I'm sure. This is the Buffyverse after all. 😀

I think that it is more indicative of Buffy's desperation to have some romantic connection again than any rekindling of her feelings for Spike. We saw a couple of episodes back that Buffy is either in denial of the harmful things that Spike did from Season 2 "School Hard" to Season 6 "Seeing Red," or she is selectively discounting everything bad that he did during that time by the same logic that she applied to Angel as being a totally different character than Angelus, therefore not answerable for Angelus' crimes, while at the same time remembering all of the good things that he did during Seasons 5 & 6. In any case, as much as I would love to finally see a REAL romance with these characters, I am holding my cheers as for now. If Season 10 is, indeed, going to be the "Spuffy Season," as I have heard mentioned on other forums, great. I'll love that almost as much as I'll relish the hisses and snarls of the Bangel contingent here. But I'm just not going to get my hopes up too far as of yet. We are dealing with Joss Whedon, here, and he seems determined to keep Buffy Summers unlucky at love forever.

Yeah, my first thought when I saw the pic was "Spuffies, take your ship and run for your lives before the comic writers comes to burn it down and salt the earth it grew on!"
I wonder if there'll ever be a happy ending for Buff.
Where is the thread? I'm not seeing it. Can a mod merge the two?

Which thread?

Nevermind, I was confused!
Buffy still has feelings for Spike. I'm not sure how I'd define it but equally I don't think it matters. There's an attraction and they have a good friendship. It's a good start for a couple.

Obviously long term between a vampire and a slayer is completely doomed. It's nothing but problems. It doesn't matter though because there's nothing wrong with Spike and Buffy grabbing some happiness for right now. In the line of work they're in you've got little guarantee of seeing tomorrow and next to none of a long term future anyway. So yeah as long as Buffy is dedicated to slaying and not got her mind on retirement or kids I say good luck to them and enjoy the here and now.
