Season 12 Wishlist

Who is she married to?? Wow I'm behind.

They don't say. It's just a throwaway line during A&F s9. Gunn is giving Angel updates on what it has been like in LA. None of AtS is prominently featured in the DH-verse. The exceptions are, Gunn gets a little bit of time on the pages in s9 but nothing significant just mostly picking them up from the airport and hanging out the hyperion. Connor does get some good page time in A&F s9 (in Family reunion) but that's it. Fredyria is back for s10/11. Other than that - nada. No Gwen. No Nina. No ghost Wesley. Not since AtF. :/

Thank you. And that sucks. Is it true about Angel & Illyria? How/why would he possibly be romantically interested in a demon that killed one of his beloved team members?

Oh man - this one is complicated because I don't 100% get it. You should check out s10/11 threads. But basically - Fred and Illyria share a body and Fred has been showing up more and more since s10. So the lines and distinctions between Fred and Illyria appear to be blurring. I'm not quite sure how Fred is inhabiting Illyria's body (if it is her soul or just her memories?) but I think that given Angel's journey through time with Illyria he -- got close to her? They seem to have some common ground in that Illyria for some reason feels bad about the things she did (again - not sure why? considering she hates humanity and was very proud of her destruction before?). But Illyria stops Angel from ending his own existence and then they make out (or potentially bone but that is left up to artistic interpretation). And then Angel wakes up with Fred and she is pissed. And then Fred admits at the end of the comics that she could have stopped Illyria? So she has feelings for Angel. And Angel seems happy about this??? LOL. I'm not the right person to be responding to this man - I don't know.

I want Buffy to ride off into the sunset on a white horse with Spike.

Also - I can't help myself here. I want the guy to turn to ash too but I didn't think a Spike fan would! 😛 Sun = deadly!

SunSET. No indirect light.

And thank you for trying your best to explain the Angel/Fredlyria mess to me.

No *DIRECT light.

LOL - I am sorry to have failed miserably. I hope someone smarter than me who understands s11 on a deeper level can give you some guidance.
(Hope I didn't post this here... I thought I posted it somewhere, but I am not finding it so here goes🙂
_______
If this is the end of seasons of Buffy, and I personally kind of want it to be...

I want Buffy happy. Kinda want her to be the boss of all things too. I think that she's an adult, it's time she (and maybe Faith) ran things. Pass the baton from the cadre of old men to the women who actually do the fighting and dying.

I prefer Buffy with Spike, but even if not, I do not want her ever with Angel.

- They are too different. Angel needs someone who can make him not brood. Buffy isn't the right person for that, she has her own darkness and insecurities that are fed by Angel's non communication. He's very autocratic. He needs someone like Cordy, though not necessarily her.

- Buffy needs someone who will boost her confidence and always have her back, but also always be willing to tell her the things she doesn't want to hear.

- Angel tends to avoid telling people stuff that might upset them. Buffy tends to internalize everything, every hurt. She needs someone who wears his heart on his sleeve.

I would prefer for no more major character deaths. This killing people business is too darn fashionable.

It would be nice for Angel to somehow get a perma-soul. This would free him to find a relationship and be happy. I think he'd be happiest with a slayer or another powerful woman, but not Buffy.

I don't think Angel should ever become human, instead, he should make peace with not being human. I think he'd be miserable as a human. He couldn't handle it for one day, just how would he handle getting old and frail and not being able to fight and be powerful? I also don't think Spike should Shanshu. That dubious 'honor' belongs to Angel.

I believe a good closure for Angel and the Shanshu would be this: he should earn it, be offered it, and then turn it down.

I'd like to see a big happy-ish family for the extended clan of Scooby. Most of us grow up, get a life, settle into that life. Imperfect, but reasonable. I think it would be nice to see our family settle into a reasonable sanity... leave them living their lives, hopeful and not as broken as the past.

Whether Giles is adult or not, I would like him NOT to be doing idiot things like trying to live as a kid or go to high school. It's moronic to have someone with a fifty-something brain and a history fighting things more powerful than he is in middle/high school. It would be nice for him to find love, but not essential.

Though I tend to not like the 'bringing folks back from the dead business, and don't think any of our characters should ever raise the dead b/c that's wrong, I'd love them to have the gift of someone back from the dead... one person in particular. Tara. Her character and warmth are needed. Even if she doesn't want to or can't be with Willow.

I actually am greedy. I also want Cordelia back. Or maybe make it a great reward two-for and just bring them both back. They are needed. Brought back by the Powers or some other external powerful source that can do that. No witchcraft resurrections, b/c that is against nature. Humans aren't supposed to raise the dead.

Final note: I don't think Buffy and Spike need a kid, but it doesn't take shanshu for vampires to become fertile.

I want Angel to get a perma-soul, too. As I want him to find peace, the great lug! Would be good to see Connor back.
No more deaths, please. No stupid alternative timeline stories.
In fact, no romantic stuff, just focus on the battle.
And please let Giles be adult again.

Well, this is a wish list right? Things that I wish would happen regardless of the unlikelihood of them actually happening - so here we go:

I prefer Buffy with Angel. Ultimately, I think the only person in this world that understands Buffy's burden and her sense of duty is Angel. I think that he would be a true partner for her. Their lives have so many parallels, that they would be able to relate to one another (leading an army, sacrificing each other and loved ones in the battle against evil, raising a teenager, feeling at times hopeless, etc.)

Buffy accepts Angel for who he is. She doesn't criticise him for being quiet or introspective. She doesn't tell him to lighten up or that he should wear a nice plaid (See his comments in Happy Anniversary). She allows him to be and loves him just the same. But Buffy is also Angel's light. Just being around her makes him genuinely happy (she was his perfect happiness). She gives him hope and makes him a better man-pire.

Similarly, Angel isn't afraid to tell Buffy when he disagrees with her. I think this is important in a life partner. Someone who will challenge you even if they love you (not someone who will blindly follow you). Also, Angel was always been Buffy's comfort - her person. She is able to be open and vulnerable with him in a way she isn't with many others. I never got the impression that she felt that Angel was beneath her or that she was superior towards him. She never bosses him around or tells him what to do and to me, that speaks to her understanding that he is a partner and not a sidekick. That appeals to me for Buffy.

(This is a wishlist and therefore I understand that getting them back together can't happen in a 4 issue mini. Many conversations need to be had and the road to a reunion would not be easy, but I believe if we had the time it would be a compelling story and it would, ultimately, be worth it.)

I want Connor back. Angel's most important relationship is with his son. That the comics have not allowed him to continue that relationship is unfortunate. I would really like them to be able to fight together. Connor is a strong and capable fighter. He should join them in the big battle.

Buffy stays a slayer. I liked some of the Buffy we got in s11. She felt more Buffy to me that season than s10 for sure. When this is all said and done, I want Buffy to still be taking up the cause, battling evil, etc. I don't want it to end with her retired.

End of Days: I would like for these lines which have amounted to meaning nothing so far to have some sort of impact on the story (from IWRY):

"The end of days has begun and can’t be stopped. For anyone of us that falls, *ten* shall rise." "Together you were powerful. Alone, you are dead."

Other cast members: I know we don't have time for this but I want to see the people I have met along the way. Billy and Nadira and Saphronia and Lavinia. I want more time with Faith. I wish I could get Gunn. All things we don't have time for sadly.

The Shanshu: If Angel doesn't die (because this is my wishlist and in my wishlist we have like 22 issues to deal with ALL of the stuff we have to deal with) I can't decide if I want him to shanshu or not. I go back and forth on it really. But if he does shanshu it would be cool if they tied this in with the vision that Angel has in AtF and he plays a pivotal role in the final battle on the side of good.

Well, if we can make unrealistic wishes...

Kill Spike or banish him to the land of Nod.

Reunite Angel and Buffy.

Break up Dawn and Xander.

Give us a visit from Cordelia.

Give us something nice for Willow. I don't know what that would be, but convince me that she will be all right.

As long as the Cordelia visit is her admitting she should've given up the visions and died cuz she got duped by Skip's lies and not tragic happenstance

This is exactly what I don't want apart from the good for Cordy and Willow.

Yes, I saw that. This is what the inside of my psyche looks like.

You poor baby. *hugs*
Off the top of my head:

- Someone needs to bite the dust. No pun intended.
- I hope Angel's Shanshu comes back into play, specifically his vision from AtF.
- Can we please get Spike to at least acknowledge Fred/Illyria?
- I'd kill for a Connor and Gunn mention or cameo, but I'm not expecting anything.
- Xander and Dawn need a happy ending. I hope it's their kid on the cover.
- Illyria written well in general? Please? This is the first time Joss will have had her under his pen, directly, since Angel Season 5. (He only supervised AtF.)
- I'm all for seeing how this directly leads into Future!Dark!Willow. I loved her. I can't wait to see why she's so "sad," and I hope it kills me.
- I don't want Giles to return to his adult form. I like the idea of him growing up again.
- Andrew better come back for this. But I'm not holding my breath at this point.
- I'd love to see all of the characters established as allies here, for at least a cameo. Like Billy, Satsu, Kennedy, Koh, Nadira, Dowling, etc. I want something like a montage of them all battling evil all over the world simultaneously as Buffy and co. I want it to feel like they've had a purpose being introduced, I guess.
- More issues? Four is NOT enough. Dark Horse did say four "currently planned" on twitter, so I hope they realize we need at least one more added on. Unless they know something I don't, which is always possible. (sarcasm.)
- Relationship drama for Spuffy. I also keep visualizing Buffy dying in a similar fashion to Spike in S7, with an "I love you" parallel? Idk, I suck.
- NOT that I want Buffy to die? I don't know what I want. I want her happy, but I know it can't happen?
- I really like some of the ideas for Angel you guys have listed. Him rejecting the Shanshu would be very powerful.
- IF Angel dies, I will feel robbed if Connor isn't at least referenced. I'd want a parallel to Angel holding Connor as he died in AtF. Illusion!Connor at the least.
- So much more.

My wishlist:

1) Angel is not in any way, shape, or form the bad guy.
2) The plot makes at least some basic sense (even if it's somewhat convoluted -- we are talking time travel here!).
3) Buffy and Angel exchange nice words (or a meaningful gesture), preferably when it's just the two of them, even if it's just one panel.

If my #1 is not met, I plan to live-stream my burning of Season 12. 😛

I will, of course, join you in solidarity if #1 happens.

I’m trying to think what could make Willow so sad. Who does she have to lose that would be on the level of losing Tara? I can’t rrally think of anyone outside be Scoobies... maybe Xander?

I feel like it had to be worse than just plain death though? Girl had seen some sh*t. LOL!

Yeah, I don't want to see Angel bad ala Twilight but what about Angelus? 😉😀 One final, hopefully memorable appearance?

No, unless it’s in a different timeline or the past!
Closure, but not finality. (That is, don't kill everyone off or make future stories impossible.)

Resolution of the "Apocalypse" seen in Fray.

Resolution of the Shanshu question. (If it's even still a thing.)

Some closure for Gunn and Connor, even if it's "off screen."

No character deaths just for the sake of it. That's paint-by-numbers storytelling.

Dawn saves the world through her Keyness... though it might result in significant changes for the character.

Buffy ends up with Parker Abrams.

(Just kidding... everyone knows she's going to end up with Satsu.)

Illyria and Fred learn to share their body and team up to fight crime. Or something.

*Xander and Spike living happily ever after with their cats in their apartment.
*Buffy, Xander and Willow in an ice rink skating and letting off steam.
*Giles becoming an adult again and adopting a troubled child from his school.
*Xander and Dawn breaking up.
*Dawn graduating college and working as a translator of ancient languages.

no, i don't see xander and spike. Whenever I imagine Xander with a vampire, it's always Angel for some reason... they hated each other too much... and Xander had a man crush/man hate on him...
