I've mentioned my appreciation for "Close your Eyes" before but i think about other moments aswell where the music in this season especially is so powerful and moving.

It is noticeable that in the early seasons for me anyway the music is better delivered. Of course there are notable exceptions such as the music used in Chosen which is great aswell, but i the music used in season 3 and particularly season 2 is just terrific.

I am not surprised Christophe Beck won an award. So many dramatic scenes that are complimented perfectly, anyway what do people think? Didn't you just love the music in the show?
 
I absolutely love the tunes on the show, the score as well, I still listen to a lot of it on a regular basis.
I also get little tingles when I watch movies and I see the Christophe Beck has made the score 😀

I definitely prefer the score for the earlier seasons, which I imagine is because Christophe Beck left after S4 - he returned for "The Gift" and "Once More With Feeling", and it shows in both cases.

That's a good one. Some of S2's other standout songs (imo) would include "Full of Grace" from Becoming Part 2 and "Anything" from Surprise.
 
What's the name of the band that did the song "blue"? Splendid?

I think that is a prime example of what a well thought-out soundtrack this show had. Considering the song was co-written by Joss. It is such an amazing fit with Converstations With Dead People.

I especially love the music in season 2, though. You're right. There are perhaps some of the most iconic moments in that season. When Jenny dies, the Angel/Buffy Love theme. Other notable favorites (and I'm refering to the collection of Christophe Beck songs that were released as a CD a little while back) are "Loneliness of Six", Tai Chi, Magic Snow Music, A Really Big Sandbox, Body Paint, and Sacrifice. They're not from season 2, I know. But they compliment their moments perfectly.

To be a stickler, "Blue" is credited only to Angie Hart, the lead singler of Splendid (and also of Frente!, oddly enough). Splendid did "You and Me" too, which is a beautiful song (and 10 minutes long on the album, oddly enough)
I love the music featured in the series, especially the bands that appear at the Bronze. I have the original Buffy soundtrack. Music plays such a large role in the series. It's what often makes the scenes so powerful.

It was said in the commentary that Joss co-wrote the song. In fact, Wiki credits him as being the only writer... but who knows how accurate that is.

Regardless. Its an amazing song. Perfect for the Episode. Which is the point I was making.

Oh, sorry - by 'credit', I meant performer credit, not songwriting credit - on the Radio Sunnydale CD, for example, it's "Blue by Angie Hart", not "Blue by Splendid".

Still, hair-splitting on my part. And I completely agree with your main point. While lyrically having nothing to do with the action of CWDP, it still fits perfectly on an emotional level.

When that episode opened with a song, it really caught my attention. I probably would have overlooked it if it hadn't.
