what was your favorite episode of buffy season 2 vote and then please post a message saying why you picked that episode.

I'd have to go with Killed By Death. Probably because it's the first episode to go into Buffy's past, at least as far as I can recall it is. Also it's like the kind of thing that can happen in real life, kids can see things adults can't - or at least I've been told. When I was 7, I could see things, and my Mum thought I was crazy, and the same with these kids in this, I mean the demon WAS real, so in that aspect it was different. But something about the episode just really interests me.

That's a hard one, seeing as Season 2 had so many good episodes. I think I'll have to go with Passion though. It breaks my heart everytime and even though I know what's gonna happen, I find myself praying that Jenny somehow breaks away from Angels grasp and that her and Giles finally get the chance to be together. The episode was really well-written and Angel's voice over still sends shivers up and down my spine.

Definetely. This stands out as my favorite episode for Angel's narration and the chilling death scene of Ms Carpenter.
Halloween no contest

its just great helpless Buffy, Soldier Xander, Willlow Scaring Giles by walking threw walls
and of course 'he's like a care bear with fangs'

that whole ep is just great 😛

it's a toss between the 'What's My Line?' two-parter and 'Halloween'

although, Sexy Soldier!Xander might win out, lol

I would have to say What's My Line (two parts) because I love Spike and Dru in that season and I loved when Xander and Cordi got together in that episode
Cordi: Dorkhead!
Xander: Wow dorkhead you slash me with your words. (might not be exact quote but you get the idea) their relationship cracks me up.

Being a bangel I'm very tempted to say Surprise/Innocence and on the humor side I'm leaning towards Halloween, but my favorite episode has to be Becoming Part 1 & 2. This episode has everything. There's drama, humor and heartache.

The shock of Dru killing Kendra was a huge surprise and incredibly chilling considering it was similar to the Buffy/Master fight with Kendra getting hypnotized and all. The plot twist of having Spike help Buffy added the humor the episode need so that it didn't end up to dark. There was the whole heartbreak of Buffy having to kill Angel when he was no longer Angelus and the show was left on a very good cliff hanger with Buffy leaving Sunnydale. Plus the introduction of Whistler was good. I always thought he would have been a great recurring character for other episodes.

I think i'd have to say Becoming, part 2 - It's just a great episode, Spike and Buffy as reluctant allies, Buffy and Angel's sword fight, Willow's first foray into serious magic and then that heartbreaking ending.

I love, love, love Innocence. I could watch that eisode over and over.

It's the rocket launcher. It's all about the rocket launcher!

I'm partial to the Kendra-ness of the season, so I'm picking What's My Line 1 & 2 and then Becoming 1. They're great episodes, too, which makes it easier to pick them. 😀

There's too many that I love in this season for me to pick just one favorite. Haha. I'm being completely serious though. I think I can probably narrow it down to:

Surprise/Innocence: I just love, love, loved this part of the Bangel arc. And it was such a powerful two parter and simply amazing. Every scene was fantastic. And I agree with what Joss said on the commentary about the very end scene of Innocence where he said he thought 'Wow! We just had a rocket launcher but this is even more amazing'.
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered: Because it's just so darn perfectly amusing. And I love this light episode amongst all the dark.
Passion: Very powerful and the first major death/loss on the show we experience.
Becoming: Because it was a hell of a finale and that montage at the end? Ooh, shivers-creating.

Okay- so my definition of narrow is impressively wide. Haha.

i have to admit, when i think of season 2, i think of 'halloween'.

what a great episode. willow is seen (by only us) as a sex goddess, xander as a soldier was hilarious, buffy as a scared damsel in distress...........should i go on?

although, i am not a fan of ethan rayne. i know, i know. most of you like him. i just didnt like how he kept coming back and noone ever kicked his ass.

I wondered that myself. I mean he got tossed around a little but that was it.

And Oz! Sex Goddess Willow is seen by Oz!
Where's the poll? Anyways, Passion is my favorite for Season 2 followed by Becoming. Passion was just well written and really delved into the psyche of Angelus. His voice-over throughout the show sends chills everytime I watch it. I also thought it was chilling the way Angelus watches Buffy and Willow outside the Summers' home when they receive the news about Jenny's death. Angelus leaving drawings and Willow's fish in envelopes was such a nasty touch. This show stands alone for so many other reasons. When I first saw this episode, as Angelus was chasing Jenny around the school I knew he would bite her and to me that was just normal for a vampire to do. However, when Angelus just snapped her neck that was totally unexpected.

Becoming stands alone too because here is where we see Xander emerge out of the weakling sidekick role. He stands up to Buffy and we see the "all seeing" Xander began in this episode as he lays out the deal to Buffy about restoring Angel's soul. He even gets into it with Giles about Jenny's death and for the first time in the whole series I actually did not like Xander. He was no longer the "dote on the Slayer" boy. He was now the one who would provide the voice of reason even when no one wanted to hear it. I went from not liking him at that moment to realizing what he was about. Xander will do anything he can to protect and defend his friends. Overall, this season was great and it really showed the amount of maturity that took place in this season. I'm currently watching season 3 right now and just continue to be amazed at the development of the characters.

Definitely "Becoming". I mean Willow and her "determined look", and that outstanding performance of Alyson Hannigan when she feels the spell coming through her or whatever. I mean, Xander being a complete bast*rd - once again in these three first seasons... Buffy fighting and finally killing her love cos she has to. Kendra dying, by Drusilla finally showing us the extent of her power... Giles being tortured... And Snyder being such an asshole he cannot not remind me of the French president (sorry...)... And Buffy's life totally falling apart, with Joyce learning it and... Well, you just feel something's changing. That's the greatness of every good season finale. I just love that episode.

But that episode is so good it just cannot count. So, right after this episode, I think I'll go with "Passion". Angel narrating, Jenny dying in this violent, brutal way ; and even more brutal and violent is the scene when Giles discovers it. Willow and Buffy falling down when they learn it... I loooved Jenny for God's sakes!

Okay so I think this is properly the hardest season to do this for as it lacks the obvious choices other seasons have (Hush, The Body, Once More.. etc) and also the strongest episodes rely heavily on the arc and 2 parters(sp). But after much thought I'm going to go with Passion as I adore this episode it has a great stand alone quality but plays into the much darker tone of season 2. It's a truly tragic episode (with wounder performances from everyone) and I think it is one of the strongest they made.

My favorite season 2 episode? Easy. It has to be "School Hard" because it was Spike's first appearance!
