Review on Season 3: This has to be the worst season ever.
Some of the episodes started off pretty descent then it died when Fred and Gunn started pairing off.
Pros: Fred joining the team. Darla being pregnant. Wes having strong affection toward Fred. Wes taking Angel's son because he thinks he's doing the right thing. Holtz stealing Angel's son away from Wesley. Wes turning toward in a different direction. Angel's son trying to kill Angel. Lilah and Wes...
Cons: Fred and Gunn pairing off. WHAT? Why Gunn? And not Wes? Are the writers serious? Where did that come from? There was no chemistry between Fred and Gunn in the first place. Does the writers think that they're geniuses by putting these two together so everyone can feel for Gunn instead of Wes? Instead Fred and Gunn relationship turned out to be boring and stale. Gunn is just a wedge between FRED/WES.
What does Gunn have that Wes doesn't have? Gun is arrogant,
liar, selfish, takes credit from other people and hurts the A.I. team and almost costing none other than... Fred's life in the process. The inconsistency of the the writing of this Gunn character was so bad this season. Gunn should have left the team and went back to his old gang. Gunn could have been really interesting this season. Almost as interesting as some of the villains. But no. Gunn was so bad that it makes Wolfram and Hart's characters and other villains that much more interesting than him and they're barely there. Even Connor was a little interesting than Gunn.
Now, what makes Gunn so special that earlier this season that he hurts the A.I. team and almost costing Fred's life and then turned around next and becoming an item for Fred? There was no buildup or chemistry between the two at all. Worst idea of pairing Fred and Gunn.
Another character - Cordelia. She started off pretty good, then toward the end of the season, she was way out of character. What? How could that be? She's the heart and soul of the team. Are the writers of the show that dense? First Gunn and now CORDELIA. What's going on here? Cordelia was upset that Wes took the baby and the baby is now with Holtz. And now, she doesn't want to talk to Wes to find out the reasoning behind it. She knew Wes since the 1st season, and earlier this season, she was talking to Wes about him having feelings for Fred. And now, it came crashing down as if she just barely met the man and wants nothing to do with him.

Actually, she knew Wes since before the first season.
