Dr Who season 4 on BBC 1, if you're not there, you're a big gay - and not in the 'My Name is Elton John and I love my husband David and we make sweet love all night long' but the other kind of gay, the bad kind!!!

I watched the trailer quite a few times last night 'lol' My excuse was not everyone was in the room when I watched it, so I had to show them how good this season looks - we all are massive fans of Doctor Who, even our 4yr old daughter loves it - she is a MASSIVE fan of Rose & was ecstatic when she watched the trailer! 😀

OMG does it start april 5th in just england? Probably....It won't air in canada for a while still. Thats what I think anyway. But I can't wait!!! And Rose shows up for 3 episodes in this season right?
 
Aren't you slightly worried about what it's going to be like with whats-her-face as the new sidekick?? (Sorry, I never remember name, mostly because I dislike her so much)... I have horrifying visions of her saying "Am I bovvered?" .. and I swear to god, even a hint of that and I will decend on the BBC in all my fury and beat them with a blunt implement for ruining a brilliant series with that GOD-AWFUL saying!!

Other than that, I'm so excited about it! 🙂

I have had this very same argument with a good friend of mine.

My argument is 'Rose'.

Before you saw her in season 1 what did you think about ex-pop star turned Chris Evans-ex?

I am willing to give CATHERINE TATE the benefit of the doubt because so far the casting has been perfect (Derek Jacobi and John Simms The Master was superb) AND Donna made a really good character by the end of The Runaway Bride.

So it definitely has BOD.

I agree, I didn't think much of Billie Piper before her stint on Doctor Who as Rose, but thought she was excellent and she is still my favourite at the moment.

I actually can't stand Catherine Tate's comedy show, and I did feel apprehensive about her being on Doctor Who but in the end I actually really liked her as Donna in The Runaway Bride.

I can't say that I'm 'bovvered' about her being the Doctor's new travelling companion this season, and I think we'll (or at least I'll) be pleasantly surprised by her performance. 🙂

She didn't annoy me at all which I thought she might so I'm really looking forward to see how her character & her relationship with the Doctor develop. 🙂

That's what I mean- I HATE her comedy show, but she was good in the Runaway Bride- but any hint of comedy Catherine coming out and I will kill someone!

I hear Cathrine Tate, Martha and Sarah Jane are in this season, so i might not watch it at all until John Barrowman's episodes, just so i know how it ties in with Torchwood. I don't really like David Tennant either, he's a prat D=

That's exactly why I haven't gone on an all-out strike so far... The Runaway Bride was good, and as you pointed out, Billie Piper seemed to be some dubious casting that turned out to be a brilliant idea, so yes, I am giving her the benefit of the doubt.

I'm still reserving the right to beat the BBC with something blunt and painful if they turn out to be completely wrong though 🙂

I really can't believe that you think he's bland and boring, but each to their own, eh. 😉

I really liked Chris as the Doctor, and did think he was excellent, but I personally prefer David as he's just more quirky, and anything but boring as the Doctor for me.

Yep. Martha will be back,too.

Alas,we have to wait until...oh,I don't know...SUMMER,at the earliest,for Sci Fi to start airing it.

As to the "who's better: Eccleston or Tennant?" battle: I liked Eccleston's work,but Tennant's proved he's up to the challenge. I really don't have any problem with either actor's work.

(A bit of a spoiler....there WILL be new theme music. The theme used for the last 2 seasons was simply a reworked version of the Eccleston theme. This one is all Tennant's. That's part of the charm of Doctor Who,really...the ever changing theme music. If you bump around You Tube enough,you will find it.)

Is it the same theme tune as was used for Voyage of the Damned (the Christmas special)?

Talking of which...I hope you all noticed that Donna's grandfather (played by Bernard Cribbens) was the old paper seller from Voyage of the Damned...hmmm 🙂
 
Wilfred Mott is his name, which INTERESTINGLY turns into Timelord WTF.

I have a very strong theort that this season is about Family, the Doctors chosen and unchosen family.

Will all the people brought back, with Donna stuff in which links have been suggested to Timelord heritage, with the
Granddaughter episode
and all the what not.

My friend is convinced too that Sarah Lancashire in episode one will the the Rani.

I think this is leading to a season finale that will be Daleks/Davros/
Harriet Jones as there is a fun spoiler that she will be a Dalek or at least in league
/The Timelords themselves.

I am so looking forward to this season.
 
Ooh interesting. And now I hate myself for reading the spoilers... I never want to read them, but I just can't help myself.
