The Initiative
-When Spike has Willow against the wall in her dorm room, he vamps his face out. At this point, when Spike has his back to the camera, his coat collar is up, but down when it's facing him, and so on as the camera cuts back and forth a couple of times.
Throughout the episode, Spike actually does a good deal of fighting without the chip going off, not just when he escapes the lab, but also when the soldier boys try to bag him in the dorm and he tosses them around. It only really goes off when he tries to bite people. So I think it is a legitimate goof, explained only by the possibility that the writers were trying to work out what Spike can or can't do with the chip exactly.
-When Spike examines the dorm room assignments on a computer, there does not appear to be an order for the names. Although they are grouped by first letter of last names, the first names are random.
-Technically, Spike cannot endure "neurological pain". The brain has no nerves, which is why it can be operated on while your awake. If something has no nerves, it obviously cannot endure pain. Although this whole thing makes a good story, but is very unrealistic.
Pangs
-Spike complains that throughout "an entire siege... you'd think one of you would bleed a little." In fact, Buffy bled twice, she was shot with an arrow and cut with a knife.
-When Buffy and the gang are fighting off the indians Spike is shot with several arrows however when they're all eating dinner afterwards there's no holes in Spike's shirt where the arrows were.
Something Blue
-Buffy's hair changes from being wavy to straight continually in this episode.
-Spike's reflection can be seen multiple times in the glass doors of Giles' bookcase.
-When Xander is trying to remember what is going on and says 'Willow' Buffy is seen kissing Spike, yet somehow she is able to say "Um Spike, hunny get off' you could see she wasen't saying anything.
-Near the end of the episode, after Spike tells the gang that Buffy wanted 'the wind beneath my wings' as the first song at the wedding. Buffy walks off and so does Willow and is also no where in front of Spike, yet in the next scean she is seen walking infront and towards Spike, and places the cookie in his mouth.
-During Willow's spell, she says Xander is a "demon magnet." Yet when the spell is ended, the demons disappear. "Demon magnet" means that he attracts demons, he doesn't make them appear out of nothing. When the spell was broken, the demons should have stopped fighting and run away.
-When Buffy punches Spike after he punches her (early in the episode; Spike has just escaped Giles' place)it clearly hits his forehead, but he clutches his nose in pain
Hush
-When Spike opens the fridge, the cup of blood is full almost to the brim. When he starts to drink he tips it so far that if it were that full, it would have spilled onto him before it even got to his mouth.
-At one point, when Riley & Walsh are having their typed/written "conversation", the text on Walsh's screen changes for no apparent reason.
-Before Willow and Tara move the fride. A close up shows the two gripping hands, when the camera backs up on the two a bit, they grip hands again.
-In the scene where Xander is on the phone with Buffy you can see a cross tattoo on his shoulder they tried badly to cover up.
Doomed
-Spike was wearing 3/4 cargo shorts at Xander's and while they were walking to see Buffy, but in the school he is wearing jeans.
-The student Willow finds in bed has his eyes open when the lights come on, his eyes are closed on the close-up, and when she jumps out of bed his eyes are open again. He must have faked the whole "bled to death" thing.
A New Man
-Maggie Walsh says that she doesn't lecture from a textbook, but in "The Freshman" Willow and Buffy are buying books that said psychology on them that looked a lot like a textbook. Surely Riley didn't suffer unesscessary bruises on his head. Reply Sometimes you have to buy books for the courses you're taking regardless of whether the lecturer does. If your lecturer taught from the textbook you wouldnt have to buy one.
-Because of being turned demon, Giles breaks his phone when he holds it and breaks the door when he exits his apartment. But when he goes to Xander's, the doorknob and door to Xander's, doesn't break. Did Giles learn how to control his strength in, like, 5 mins?
The I in Team
-In this episode, Buffy tells Maggie that she was thinking about getting a pager. Apparently she lost the one she had in season 1's "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date"
-Buffy wanted to live in the dorm cuz it was too far to go home everynight, but not too far away from the Bronze that they still hang out there all the time?
-When we see Adam as Prof. Walsh is giving her monolaugue near the end of the episode, Adam's human face is on the left side of his face, but when he wake up and stabs Maggie, his human face is on the right side of his face. That is where it stayed for the rest of Adam's life.
Goodbye Iowa
-When Adam is telling Buffy and Riley about the professor's notes and plans, he reads them off disks that he inserts into a disk drive in his chest. But he doesn't take out the disk labelled "ADAM" before inserting the "FINN" disk.
-Riley tells the commandos that Walsh must have been killed by the Polgara demon that they captured "last week". Really he should've said "the day before yesterday".
-The hole in Spike's shirt from the tracer bullet disappears at the start of this episode.
-When Buffy wraps her bandana around Riley's bleeding hand, a couple of shots later, the bandana is back around her head again. And then in the next shot, it is gone again.
-When Riley is sick and scratching his hand, Buffy wraps her bandana around his hand. Later when Riley shows up at the initiative (where Buffy Xander, and Adam show up) he doesnt have the bandana around his hand. However, at the end of the episode when Riley is lieing in the med center, he has it again.
This Year's Girl
-A small lighting error casts a shadow of Buffy and Riley on the wrong wall in the scene where they are talking in Buffy's room.
Time Index 40:07 - When Buffy and Faith are rolling down the stairs, to the left you can see a camera following them. VERY Obvious. This is one of the most glaring technical errors I have seen on Buffy yet.
-Faith walkes through the streets of Sunnydale after she escapes from the hospital. There walkes a woman in a blue coat past her on the back ground. Then they have a close up of Faith and then the same woman in the blue coat walkes past her the same direction. Then another close up and again the same woman walkes her path the third time.
-During the scene in which Buffy, Xander, and Willow find the strung-up demon, Buffy unwittingly goes right by it. After she then passes by the tree and before the camera pans back to show it behind her, if you look in the background, you can clearly see a man holding a boom mike just standing out in the open.
Who Are You?
-At the end of 'This Year's Girl' when Buffy and Faith fight in Buffy's house, Buffy has straight hair. In 'Who Are You', when the cops come to get Faith, Buffy has wavy hair now. The end of 'This Year's Girl' and the beginning of 'Who Are You' is the same scene, by the way!
-This is a very nitpicky nitpick 🙂. When they are taking Buffy-in-Faith to the ambulance in the beginning and we look from her point of view at Joyce and Faith-in-Buffy. But Buffy-in-Faith's face is facing upward - meaning her pov would be strictly the stars - there's no way she could see Joyce and Faith-in-Buffy, maybe their heads, but thats it.
-When the nurse phoned the watchers council in the previous episode,she only dialled like 4 numbers,wouldn't she have to dial more for long distance calling?(i put this in this episode, cause we find out in This episode,that she phoned britain)
Superstar
-The Chess game between Giles and Jonathan is peculiar. Pawns can never be on the first or eighth ranks, they start on the second and cannot move backward, and once they reach the eighth they are automatically swapped for a taken piece.
Where the Wild Things Are
-When Anya gets stabbed in the hand by the plant thing, she doesn't seem to be in much pain.
-In the scene just after Anya saves Xander from the bathtub, you can clearly see a set of hands controlling the vines which are attacking them on the left side of the screen. One of the worst technical errors I have seen on the show yet..
New Moon Rising
-Time Index 34:00 - When Buffy is walking down the hall in the initive a shadow can be seen in the top left hand corner of the screen, this shadow then moves with the camera throughout the scene indicating that it may not be a shadow but an obstruction on the camera itself.
-When Willow leaves her dorm room in the morning to brush her teeth (after chatting up Oz all night), about 20 seconds passes between when she leaves and when Tara knocks on the door. (Also, same short amount of time between when Tara leaves and Willow returns). Unless one of them moves at stealthy speed, they should have seen each other in the hallway.
The Yoko Factor
-When Buffy, Riley and Angel are arguing in Buffy & Willow's dorm room, Willows laptop is on her desk but Willow is supposed to have been decrypting the Initiative Disks from Spike all day, ON HER LAPTOP, at Giles' house so unless she's got two laptops (which are identical) it shouldn't be in the dorm room.
Why didn't Buffy's scar from fighting Adam heal instantly?
Primeval
-When Buffy pulls out Adam's uranium core she holds it horizontally. When Riley runs in she is holding it vertically, then when the shot cuts back to her, she is holding it horizontally again.
-When Xander is naked in bed the sheets go up and down a lot... not in the way you're all thinking about tho. One second it's below his chest and in the next shot it's above his chest under his chin.
-When Forrest is holding Spike against the control panel to pull his head off he is leaning him up against a DJ Audio mixing board. Why oh why does the Inititive secret lab need a DJ Scratch capable audio board?? 🙂
-How could Riley pull out the chip so easily, especially if it was lodged behind his heart?
