The following was said by Joss in an interview.

If Buffy the Vampire Slayer ends after season seven and if Angel is renewed for a fifth season Joss Whedon is considering transferring some characters to the LA based show.

"I think it would be cool," says Whedon. Everyone's just happy that they can consider a fifth season for Angel. The WB tried to banish the show to little watched Sunday, and then there was the muscial executive producer chairs. However, Angel has thrived at it's new time according to Whedon. "I thought if there was one show of mine that's going to be in trouble [this year], it is Angel, but it's really kicking it out."

why is the WB messing around with these shows, first it ditches Buffy then messes around with Angel. It would be great to see some of the characters transfer over especially Willow, maybe even Dawn, that would be great. But I'm not sure on xander, and I think Giles would return to England.
 
I could see Willow joining the cast because she actually has something to offer, she's a powerful witch. I don't see a reason for any of the others. Xander doesn't even like Angel, so what would be the point, Dawn can't really offer anything except a love interest for Connor,(and who would want to see that??). So really only Willow could help them out.
 
Well since Giles is getting his own shown called "Ripper" which will be on the BBC Fall 2003 and later that year on UPN, some characters might also go there.

Dawn I don't really see her on Angel, but her and Connor could work out! (Both pain's in the ass!)

Faith Definately could go to Angel, though if she has time to do Angel, she would also be able to fill in Buffy's shoes and this problem wouldn't excist

Giles gets his own show!

Spike could go with Giles! Which would fill the prophecy from 4.22 "Restless" .... "I'm gonna be a watcher!"

Willow would really be a good addition to AI, with her magics and she recurred on Angel before. Alyson probably won't mind spending more time with Alexis, on the set.

Xander ... find your self a new job! He really has had no other use than suporting Buffy, so if she leaves, he's kinda useless!
 
I think Dawn could offer something, I mean she is a ball of mystical energy, and possibly the new slayer, i think it would work better with her as a slayer if she went and was taught by Angel instead of yet another stuffy watcher. Perhaps Xander doesn't have anything to offer or any other reason to go to LA so I agree there but Willow and dawn I think would be great.
 
It would be nice to see Giles on the LA show. We all know that he's got a darkside and that would be perfect for a show like Angel. Then again, he'll be too busy with Ripper. Faith's already been on the show three times and fitted in just fine. Definitely Willow, and possibly Spike would make great additions to the Angel cast. Xander's kewl, but he doesn't have any supernatural powers like Buffy or Anya did. I'm not even goint to comment on Dawn.
 
Dawn should go for the Connor connection. Xander will go along because he's got nothing else to do, and Cordy's there! I want a Cordy/Xander reunion. Giles wants to be in England where his real life is, and I kind of feel like Ali's probably itching to do some movies after Buffy ends. Maybe Faith, although Eliza left because she was set on doing films but I don't know if that's been all she hoped either.
 
It has been annouced that Ripper will not happen, at least for not a couple of years...Joss Weldon's plate is just to full.
 
Actually it could could happen either next year or the year after since Joss plate could get alot more room.

Buffy ends at Season 7.

Firefly gets cancelled (I pray to all of you to watch this show and help it not get cancelled. I wish Firefly no harm)

Then that would mean he only has Angel, add to that Ripper is only 6 episodes, and he no longer has the Buffy cartoon.

Good chance we'll get it soon
 
Euhm, his plate is a little full indeed, but if and when Buffy ends at Season 7, will she return in another form, Faith or Willow or Dawn spin-off?!?!?

Firefly well uhm, it's pretty good for a Sf/Western, since I hate series like StarTrek and as a rule hate western movies, it's doing a darn good job, I pray it doesn't get cancelled, but I think Fox will have faith in Joss and this will turn out okay!

Why would Ripper be only six episodes?
 
Here in the UK most of our tv series are usually between 6 and 13 episodes long. I can't think of any examples you might recognise right now. We don't have the same season setup that the US has. You can try a search for any UK series on IMDB and it should give an episode count.
 
i think it would be cool to have some of the characters go over to Angel it would be interesting having some of the old characters back together.And maybe have Sarah come back occassionally.
 
I think it would be cool to have Xander on Angel! Even though they don't like each other it could lead to some very funny slagging scenes cuz Angel might actually start saying stuff back to Xander now that his character has developed much more, plus they might actually sort out their differences.
 
I would like to see anya on angel.
I know she isn't returning after season 7 but it was just a thought I had!!
Her and cordy toggether could bring out the bitch in cordy!

not to be insolent, but when was Willow ever on Angel? never remember this happening...doesn't mean it didn't i fell out of the Angel thing for awhile when it sucked...then when it got better i came back...but still never knew abou tthat...

what happened in this episode where Willow crossed over b4?
 
The BBC Have set a filming date for Ripper,
Its May the 30th next year if evarything goes to plan,
i mean its not like joss has anything better to do firefly was cancelled buffy's near the end and i dont think he will move onto Angel.

I also think willow should go to england with giles,
they work well together

She was on Angel in episode 2x22: There is no place like Plrtz Glrb, but all she did was sit down and cry and Angel said "Its Buffy.."
 
These are my opinions of transfering the characters:
Willow-The only one who has something to offer, her magic.
Dawn-Why she go to L.A? She doesnt have anything to offer
Xander-He hates Angel, so why would he go?
Spike-Probably the most likely to move to Angel, i dont see why though cuz Spike and Angel hate each other.
Buffy and Anya-Well, we know that Emma is leaving after season 7 of Buffy, which is a shame, becuase if she went to Angel, she would brighten the show up, Angel is way to dark, theres no humour in it, well, sometimes but not much. Buffy wouldnt go over to Angel, even if SMG does stay on, she would still do Buffy.
Giles-I think he'll just go to England, and if Ripper is still a possibility, i think he'll just do that.
