Season 5's saddest moments

I just like how the body is just one of those episode that make you realise how special and unique a show that Buffy is...

I'd honestly have to say the whole episode of "The Body," especially these moments:

* When Buffy first discovers her mom's body and she says "Mommy."
* Dawn crying in the hallway after Buffy tells her about their mom's death. I thought it was a great touch that we weren't able to hear what either Buffy or Dawn was saying.
* Anya's speech, gets me everytime, and probably my favourite moment from this episode.
* Willow trying to find her blue sweater.

The last moments of "Forever" are also very sad, when Buffy breaks down crying in Dawn's arms.

And of course, when Buffy sacrifices herself for Dawn in "The Gift". I don't think I've cried so hard.

OMG! I knew Buffy's mom was gone by season 7, and from what I read on here that she dies in season 5, but it was so sudden and out of nowhere! "The Body" was sooo sad! Spike showing up with the flowers really broke my heart! :bluesad::crying2:

Anya's speech, and Buffy's death. The way they did the voice-over with what she told Dawn before she jumped, and Spike's reaction more than anything else.

The first part of The Body was probably the most heart wrenching. Seeing Buffy's face getting more and more terrified at the beginning when she sees her mom laying on the couch or when she tries to do CPR but can't because her slayer strength broke her ribs. After she heard the crack her face looked so horrified at what she'd done.

Another scene that really gets me that hasn't been mentioned is from The Gift when Spike is about to be thrown from the top of the platform. He gives Dawn such a sad and apologetic look just before he gets tossed and we have our final hope that she can be rescued in time dashed.

Spike getting thrown got to me too.
1.The Body...Sarah was perfect there. It was like watching an actual death and the actual reactions of Joyce's daughters. Buffy and Dawn broke my heart. "Mommy" broke my heart.
2.In "Forever" Buffy said "Mommy" again...it's like an innocent young girl who needs her Mom...amazingly touching.
3.In The Gift...no words for the ending scene. The serenity in her face, her words to Dawn...her sacrifice.
4.In Weight of the World when she finally wakes up and hugs Willow crying
5. There is a scene...when Buffy lost Dawn to Glory and she falls down to the ground and cries. Before she has the nervous break down. The despair in her eyes kills me.

Anya's speech kills me everytime.

Buffy's face in the first part of The Body. SMG was just amazing in that scene.

The scene at the end where Buffy's body is just lying there and they pan on the faces of her friends and family.

1) "Mommy?" 🙁
2) Tara getting brain-sucked by Glory and Willow not making it in time to try and save her. I don't know how others felt about it. 🙁 I teared up a little.

Hands down the Body. I still cry every time I watch Buffy's reaction. I think I would have reacted the same way if I found my mom laying on the couch dead. Also, the Gift was very bittersweet. I was very happy to see that Tara had gone "back to normal" but then the happy feelings turned sad at the end. Poor Dawn 🙁

It's always gonna be The Gift finale scene. Always. Because there she is, the girl we've all known and learned to love, this amazing woman who decides to sacrifice herself for the world, for her friends and family, without a moment's doubt...and she dies...Buffy dies. And you see her just laying there, everybody's shocked, sad, broken. The saddest moment.

When she tells Giles "we're not supposed to move the body!", gets me every time.

End of Forever.

Buffy's speech to Dawn being played as she's falling and then Spike breaking down upon seeing her body.

Willow seemingly about to break down but being comforted by Tara.

I always tear up a little at Xander's speech to Anya about how much he loves her juxtaposed with Riley leaving and Buffy walking the streets alone.

The Body - Buffy Finding Joyce, Anya's Speech, Buffy Telling Dawn About Joyce

Forever - At The End

The Gift - At The End

The whole end in the gift, but where I really start sobbing is when Buffys friends realizes she's dead. I think it's the build up though, 'cause the really, really sad and beautiful and heartbreaking bit is the moments just before she jumps.
