Season 6 was awesome!

What an innovative thread!

But yea, S6 was pretty good. I enjoyed the darkness...which is actually a much more worthy topic. S6 is hardly 'dark' ...just more real.

Innovative??
Its my least favorite season but its still top quality. Didn't like dark Willow but loved the Spuffyness and the darkness of it.
Best episodes for me are Bargaining and Entropy.

Yeah the Trio were funny. I lmao when they break into the museum, and Warrens talkin to the security guard like ''we're with the FREEZERAY tour group, why dont we just get the FREEZERAY outta here'' lol 🙂

Uh, WTF? No it's not RACIST. It's called stating an opinion about a character.

Ha, it was just a joke. You said you didn't like DARK Willow. Taken literally it definitely makes no sense because Dark Willow is still a white girl. Sorry, the comment was only meant to be jovial but sometimes these things don't come across on an internet forum.

Sorry, I don't like those kinds of jokes... But I do accept the appology.
Anyway, to get back on track, I have to say that the season as a whole was one of my favorites. It was very heavy, with Buffy's sadness over being pulled out of Heaven, Willow's addiction, the death of Tara... But I thought it had some of the best episodes of the series.

I prefer to think of "Dark Willow" as "super engraged and griving because some moron killed the love of her life Willow" but thats to long of a title, so they went with Dark Willow instead =D.

Anyway, I agree with those of you who said it was the best season. I actually liked Dark Willow because it was good to see that even sweet and cute Willow has darkness in her. Made her character more human to me. And I would have done what Xander did at the end of the last episode of the season.

Yeah, S6 was such an awesome season. I remember a lot of people thought BTVS should of ended after S5, but the thing is there was so much more potential for the show. Buffy had to be a mother and a true leader of the house, now that her mother was gone. It showed how tough life can be, and the repercussions of bad decisions. To see the ups and downs, how friends can turn on you and how others help you out. Season 6 is a good season, and UPN did a very good job at promoting it. I always wondered why the rating went down so much when BTVS moved to UPN? It's pretty much a 3rd party station like the WB was.

s6 is a great season, though I hate the whole Buffy and Spike thing. I kinda liked the trio too, they were not my favourite, but they were funny

As Season 4 was, because of the college thing, Season 6 is a big turn in Buffy. It's more mature and dark. Even if the change started in season 5. I'd say that Season 6 is one of my favorite. In terms of darkness and strong episodes it is my favorite but each season has its particularities so sometimes it's IMO difficult to compare them. Still I watched Bargaining yesterday (I'm rewatching season 6) and I think it is the best season beginning. So intense. "ça commence sur les chapeaux de roue" like we say in French 🙂

Ah merci, theres only 2 top class opening episodes ever, and one of them is bargaining :)
I've just rewatched season 6 again, and I don't think its one of my faves! Some of the episodes were great, but I preferred the earlier part of the season. And upon another view, I realised how much I really don't like Dark Willow. At all. She really got on my nerves and I hated how cocky she was. I just wanted to give her a few home truths...from very far away 😛

I also cannot stand Warren, I found him and Willow to behave quite similarly in some episodes. They both got really cocky about being all strong and powerful through magic which annoyed me. Andrew and Jonathan were much more likeable; Andrew is much better in season 7 though, he's hero-worship of Warren wore thin. Jonathan is probably the one I liked the most. I think he had some of the same feelings displayed in Superstar, that he wants to part of something and he wants to be known, but I found him to be very uncomfortable with many of their shenanigans, which I quite liked in him. But his own insecurities and shortcomings couldn't overcome that.

I loved season 6. It's definitely not my favorite, but it's up there.

My favorite part of the season was probably the Spike/Buffy storyline. It's weird, because at first, I really didn't like their relationship in season 6, but after rewatching it, I love it...in fact, unlike most people, I preferred season 6 Spuffy to season 7 Spuffy. Now, I know a lot of people argue that Buffy's actions were out of character, I disagree...she had been slipping down the path of self-loathing for some time (just look at her having to go on the spirit walk in season 5 because she thought she was becoming too cold and closed off), and going to heaven before being yanked back to Earth just heightened it. It made sense that she would take out her anger on Spike, since he appeared to be nothing more than "a thing" to her. Their dynamic was just so complex, if not a little unsettling at times. Plus, hello? Lots and lots of hot sex!

I can see why people a lot of people don't like it, though. I think the main reason is its difference from the other seasons. It can be very heavy and mature at times, but I liked that aspect of it. It fit the Scoobies' positions at that time, even if at times, the "life sucks" aspect was taken so far it was borderline ridiculous. Then, there's the whole thing with the metaphors losing their subtlety, which I can sort of agree with, mostly in regards to Willow's arc. The "magic addiction" plot did fit the character's position at the time, since she had a weird almost obsession with power since the beginning of the show that gradually became more prominent, but I thought it was poorly executed. The whole "MAGIC=DRUGS" message was smashed into our heads so much that the storyline was completely ruined.

Still, the complaint that I just don't get about season 6 is that the Trio were lousy villains. They weren't SUPPOSED to be the Big Bads, or even a real threat...notice that, whenever Buffy was pitted against them, she effortlessly sent them heading to the hills. The whole point was that life was the Big Bad, and the Trio trying to mess with her life were just icing on the cake. Besides, I liked the Trio. They were hilarious and a real breath of fresh air amidst a very dark time.

season 6 is deffo one of my fav seasons, although buffy does go into a kind of depression.
the trio are amazing, i love life serial .!

Come on, any nerd can appreciate the humor in the Trio scenes. I love their reactions when Spike threatens to break their Star Wars figures, the best Bond debate, the magic bone, Andrew's attempt to fly away with Warren and leave Jonathen behind. All good stuff.
