Do you think that Buffy and her friends went to LA to stay with Angel for at least long enough to treat their wounded (mostly Wood, since the Slayers have accelerated healing) and get reorganized after the final battle? Los Angeles would seem to be the logical place place to go and it might have been when Giles found out about Angel's connection with Wolfram & Hart. If not, where do you think that they might have gone as an alternative, either there in the city or elsewhere?

In answer to your question i suppose its all guesswork. I think it would have been a nice touch if that was the case but who knows what ideas Joss might have on that issue.

Good question- the comics don't address it. Of course, wouldn't we have heard about it in Angel season 5 then? Maybe they went to Cleveland, since I'm assuming some of the Slayers would've been headed there anyway. I don't think season 8 tells us how soon they ended up in Scotland. But there are as many guesses as there are fanfic authors LOL. A lot of the fanfic I've read seems to happen immediately following season 7.

Certainly that is what a lot of post-Chosen fanfics have happen, so it seems logical to me.

It is the most logical, but it doesn't seem to have happened, when Andrew went to Angel they had to be filled in on all the details, theres no way they wouldn't have heard about it if the gang had gone to LA. (I think thats just stupid, Buffy would have left word with Angel that she is alright, how did she not say how she won?!?)

I think they got straight to work, headed to England to get whatever records or people the watchers council had left.

I don't think so. The characters of Angel seemed pretty oblivious to what happened in Sunnydale... especially with Spike dying and saving the world, which I'm sure the Buffy characters would have mentioned... I mean, even if they didn't mention it willingly they would be asked I'm sure "what happened and how did it end?" And they would have to mention Spike and the amulet and his soul... In season 5, everyone except Angel and Spike seems to have no idea about all that. I mean I guess that would make sense... but I'm guessing they may have already knew about Angel and WR&H or maybe they just didn't get that far.

It's certainly what I like to think happened. Perhaps they all didn't roll into W&H but I feel that Buffy would have at least spoken to Angel to let him know what happened. Including Spike's demise.

I think it would have been nice if they did, but in Angel, they went to Italy to find Buffy and she was oblivious to Spike's return (as Andrew mentioned), so I don't think they would have gone to LA.. Maybe just straight to Europe.

I think that Buffy would have at let Angel know that the second front wasn't necessary (good thing, too considering the time, or lack thereof, that he had been given to organize one!) and would probably have had her gang stay at the Hyperion for a few days just to get organized and plan their next move. It would be pretty obvious that Spike wasn't there, so Angel would probably have figured out all by himself that he died in the battle even if neither Buffy nor any of her friends mentioned it.

For some reason, I'm inclined to think that Buffy never mentioned any specific details about exactly what went on in the hellmouth, other than that Spike had been instrumental in closing it at the cost of his own life, after Faith left. I think that she would consider that as being very personal and private. In fact, I would honestly be surprised if she ever mentioned it in detail to anyone, for much the same reason that she was very vague about what happened between herself and Angel at the end of Season 2.

If they did stay at the hotel, it's pretty certain that Giles would have first found out about Angel's new connection with Wolfram & Hart at that time, which would have explained both his renewed distrust of Angel and his people later in Season 5 and possibly even the apparent rift between himself and Buffy that Giles hinted at at the beginning of the "No Future For You" arc, assuming that she had been as defensive of Angel then as she had been of Spike during Season 7.

It was always clear for me that they did. Because when Spikey shows up in Angel's office, he asks him questions that Angel could answer. Can't remember what exactly, and damn that because I just watched it yesterday...
But Angel did assure Spike that Buffy's alright and safe. I always assumed the gang stopped there to fill Angel in. And don't you think Buffy would tell Angel how the fight went, who's dead (he knew Spike was dead) and letting him know the hellmouth is closed and she's going off to wherever? It would seem weird to me. So I say yes. Even if they didn't talk about it at Angel's, they did know most details.

I assumed Buffy and crew called Angel because while Angel could answer the questions, no one else could. And didn't Fred ask who Spike was... even after hearing his name?

Makes a lot a sense

i tene to believe that too, makes the most sense for how Angel reacted when he saw Spike
Honestly, I've always pictured in my head that they drove to the nearest sleazy motel and checked in to rest and regroup. I just picture the looks on the faces of the other people in the motel when this beat up yellow bus slowly drives in filled with a bunch of blood teenage girls. lol
