If Faith is featured in the new comic series (and she almost HAS to be in some capacity), where should she be? Patroling the Cleveland Hellmouth with a crew of Slayerettes, helping Buffy with the troops at Slayer Centrai, or just drifting around wherever the latest action is? And should she be paired more or less permanently with Wood, or playing the field more?
 
She's in issues 6 to 9... and I hope more. It would be cool if she's going to be with Wood after all this time... I like Wood. I'd also like some friendship to develop between her and Buffy because it seemed like that was never mended.

I read somewhere that the origonal plan for a "Faith The Vampire Slayer" series was Faith on a motercycle riding all over the Southwest while the Council tried to have her prison sentence repealed, a sort of combination "Buffy" and "The Fugitive" thing. Eliza didn;t much like the idea, so she went with "Tru Calling" instead. I thought the story had posibilities, but I never thought of including Dana. That would be a nice touch.
 
Yeah, I remember hearing about that. I think the ghost of Spike was involved in some way also.
 
Yeah I knew about the Faith the Vampire Slayer idea and the possibility of Spike being on her show... *sigh* would have rocked. I guess reading about the characters is almost as good.
 
Mixed feelings on this from me. On one hand, it would have been nice to see a continuation. On the other, I just don't think the Faith character was designed as a lead role without heavy re-tooling. I'd be afraid the series would flop, much like the Amanda highlander spinoff did.

Much as I liked the character, even after reconciling with Buffy, there's an edge of desperation almost pathetic-ness vibe from the Faith char. She's damaged goods, but you couldn't really pull a 'redemption' series without that already being done on the Angel side of stuff.
 
Actually I was wondering if she'd return in some capacity and have flipped sides again. Never know huh?
 
According to editor Scott Allie in the letters section of the second printing of Buffy 8 # 1 Faith is in England.

3) Issues #6-9 of Season Eight will feature a Faith story written by comics superstar, and one of my favorite writers, Brian K. Vaughan. But there's no Sunnydale for her to go to (see pages 14 and 15), so you're gonna have to settle for England.

I like the Fugitive-like idea...kinda a Prison Break thing...😉It will be interesting to see what she does when she shows up. Since the council is no more, we may see her in full slayer mode...
 
Hm... I wonder if they mean England as in "the mother country" or England as in New England... which could mean maybe Faith went back to Boston? With that aside, I'd like to see Faith just wandering. I don't think it's in her character, yet, to settle down.
 
The question is how closely is Faith working with the Army of Slayers. She accepted Buffy's authority (in the end) during the fight against the First out of neccessity. However, I just don't see Faith working easily under the paramilitary discipline shown in Buffy's "slayer squad" ops. She may be an outsider--either a free agent called in to deal with situations that don't require the sheer force of a squad, or working in an allied-but-independent capacity on her own.

Heh. One thing is for sure, they never call Faith "ma'am".

Though nothing was ever mentioned about it in Angel Season 5, I always just figured that Angel probably got some of his new employees at Wolfram and Hart to either make her criminal record disappear altogether or at least have the sentence refused to time previously served. That's the kind of thing that the Evil Law Firm, Inc. specialized in.
 
Well, I read this interview and Joss said not all the Slayers will be good. Maybe Faith goes all pscycopath killing monster again?

I really hope not. Faith has always been a personal favorite character of mine, and though she always seemed overshadowed by either Buffy or Angel, depending on which series she was appearing in, I always felt that she could be developed into a much stronger character if the opportunity presented itself.

Now, if you want a Slayer to go all rogue in the future, my recommendation would be that brat Kennedy. She and a bunch of Junior Slayers going evil and turning against the good guys would make a great series.
 
I'm told you can pre-order them, and I imagine order back issues from TFaw.com. What myself and others do is buy them from comic stores. Most such places will allow you to reserve the following month's issue. In this way you don't get shut out.

I think that would have worked great. Sort of reminds me of the show Supernatural with the two brothers riding around the country, solving cases and killing supernatural evils. They are both wanted by the FBI for various crimes (including murder) so you sometimes have episodes with one of the FBI pricks trying to chase them down while one of the other officers or a lawyer or someone realizes that they aren't the bad guys and ends up helping them out. Those episodes were always my favorites (the vampire episodes rocked too).

Anyway, I could see the same mechanic working with a Faith show. It's a classic setup used successfully by many shows (Renegade comes to mind, though I didn't like that one so much).
