Season 8 Or Animated Series?

I know that there are some here and elsewhere who were less that thrilled with Season 8 in particular and the comic book version in general, so here is my question. Given a choice between the comic book format and an animated series, which would you have preferred?

Animated series. It's much closer to the medium of a tv show, both of them being videos and all. Plus, the art has a distinct style rather than the pale imitations of the comics.
 
Well since I never have time to read, I would have loved to see the animated series. 🙂 I remember getting SO excited when I saw the drawings for the show, and thinking "This is gonna kick so much ass!" I used to love "Batman: The Animated Series" and this looked sort of similar in style...
 
In an either/or choice, I'd take the comics.

But I'd love to see the comics done as an animated series (not "motion comics").
 
I own the Batman animated dvds so ofcourse animated done right is awesome but I don't have a problem with the comics but I did hate that it was so many issues and lets face...most people rather watch and have a story told/showed to them
 
I'm afraid they would have "tamed" the animated series, so younger kids could watch it as well.
I wouldn't have liked that, but the idea of an animated series is cool.
They actually could have made the comics into an animated series, like you already said.

I say comics, because i'm a huge comic fan. If written correctly (which Season 8 was not), comics are some of the best art forms around, some good examples are Batman Dark Knight Returns, Watchmen (way better than movie), among others
 
From the trailer, I don't think I would have been much into this particular series. For one it seemed to be just a reboot of the original show, and would probably have removed the things that really liked from the show. So I would have to say, though the comics had their problems, I prefer them.
 
I think that the animated series is better because you can bring some action on the screen. With comics the fight scenes are not so great and exciting! either normal comic or moved picture comic! Why they never show us the animated serie!?
 
I'd say the comics. An animated series would be OK, I guess, but I agree with the whole taming down idea that others have mentioned. It just feels like it would be a really lukewarm version of the series, and I think that the comics, although they may not flow as well as an animated version, keep the edginess that Buffy the series had.
 
Animated S8 would be awesome! Especially if the actors are doing the voices. I don't want an animated series about S1 and S2. I want it to continue the story after S7. And I LOVE S8 and S9. So, I want animated S8 and S9. I'd love to hear who does Satsu and Renee's voices.

Edit: I'd also like to add that if they'd ever do an animated series, I'd love it to be as dark and deep as the Japanese animations. Not as the silly cartoons of the U.S.

Perhaps do it the way they did the "Spawn" animated series on HBO....except with better animation...
I would have liked the animated series.

Although I think we would have had some of the same problems, things that were stupid in the comics that they couldn't do on TV due to budget would have been done in the cartoon.
